That is actualy an eye watering ammount, in todays money it equates to £6669 although I canot make out the last item on the bill a ton of something?

I assume it was Carbide, for the lamps. '1 ton' seems an awful lot, but a quick search suggests that the price of c£18/ton could be correct, so the correction may be an uplift to '1 ton 1 cwt', and it was to service a four week hire period.

And we think Maseratis are expensive!
