Possibly timing chain cover leak?

I had mine done £1,800+ but I have all my work done at main dealer.

Looks gearbox related, that’s the gearbox oil cooler and pipes isn’t it, question is whether it’s the box, pipes, actuators etc could even be the reservoir I suppose.

Probably one of the pipes from the F1 fluid system. But it might also be the oil cooler pipes.

As for seriousness, it’s leaking so it would be best to fix it as soon as you can, as if it isn’t serious now, it will be soon!

Thanks chaps.
Now for my next question:
Now DL’s in Swindon have stopped servicing Maserati, can anyone recommend a specialist near Bristol to take a look at this ?

Thats nasty. Yes, its CC fluid, probably the CC pipe from the reservoir but it could be one of your EV pipes.

When someone who doesn't know what they are doing changes the clutch, when the gearbox comes out it has to be eased out and dropped a bit at a time. If you don't, it gets pulled back and EV pipe that sticks out the most gets slammed into the rear crossmember and this pipe gets ruptured. It weeps, then lets go and that's the end of your drive.

Have a complete set of EV pipes for a 4200/QPV but think you've a GT?
Eurospares quote different part numbers - anyone know for sure if they are the same spec/lengths etc?
If this is the problem perhaps borrow the one you need and get a local hydraulics firm to make up one.
For what they actually are even 2nd hand prices are extortionate.

Yep GT....but thanks for the offer. Much appreciated.

Done a little digging and am fairly certain the EV pipes are identical across Masers F1 systems. In fact, Eurospares quote the same part no. for the recycle pipe. Making a few more enquiries re: specs of the other pipes (curiosity has taken hold) and will post findings. These pipes are nothing more than braided hose/banjo fitting wrapped with a nylon spiral. Pricing for which is in the "taking the p*ss" territory.

Visited Matt and Ash at SportsItalia yesterday and got the oil leak plus a few other items sorted. Came away having had the benefit of a really thorough ‘health check’ on the car which is fantastic peace of mind. A few more jobs to do on my next visit in April (bushes and front subframe) but it’s all quoted for ahead at very reasonable prices. Well worth the trip down from Bristol and highly recommended.

Result. Where was the leak?
EV pipes as you suggested. Pipes were ok but a couple of washers had failed. Also a piece of flexible tubing at one end of the F1 reservoir pipe I think...
So the only real costs for this fix were labour to get the gearbox out and back in again. Which was a relief as the pipes themselves are ridiculously expensive for what they are !

Nice. Glad it got sorted - thanks for the credit but wasn't my call
Unlikely that anyone would need to change all 6 pipes but a set for a 4200 at Eurospares is approx. £3K.
GT is approx. 50% more even though I think they're the same. Enquiries are ongoing on that one.
Either way the pricing is ludicrous.
