Nespresso for me too, I've one in the house and one in the office. You can recycle the pods as others have said, you can also get recyclable pods from other brands in Tesco and the like, some of which are decent. The other thing you can do is get a metal, re-useable pod and fill it with whatever coffee you like. You need to pack it super tight but it works well. This kind of thing, there's lots of choice.

how many of those pods are actually recycled? Out of sight out of mind perhaps?
Bialeti for one good cup. Takes same time and effort as former stroll to coffee shop. Adds 5 minutes screen break too. I am not involved in critical life support (during day job) so stuff can wait.
Life Safrane ^^ for multiple, make a press jug and reheat subsequent cups.

Personally I have a Gaggia Classic, with the old style porta filter and loose ground coffee. It can be a bit messy, but I don’t like the idea of filling up the bin with pods.
You can get the reusable pods now. Fill up with your favourite grounds and use as normal.

Agree cannot beat Nespresso for customers helping themselves but for the Barista in you and if wanting to buy British then these are great

Or they do a bean to cup

With something like a Eureka Mignon grinder. Happy days.

I bought this a couple years ago, used all the time never missed a beat and makes cracking coffee. A doddle to use.

I only got this because it was exact same as a model in a rig control room I was on and was getting used to within an inch of its life lol

When we moved office, the fit out people tried to flog us one of these:

A snip at £10k! Good coffee though and you can order it off the app so it's there when you get in (assuming that you've left a cup in place of course).

If you can stretch to a fully plumbed in machine then look for single group commercial setup like my Fracino. Hard to find single ones but they do come up on Ebay.

This makes amazing coffee but you need a good grinder as well.

Good luck.

I’ve had a Delonghi Magnifica for 15 years and it has run faultlessly. Oh dear, such hubris will probably mean I’ve given it the kiss of death!
Bean to cup is my choice as there’s a specialist coffee merchant near us who roasts on site and will deliver within 48 hours of ordering on line. Pre-COVID, their click and collect service was an excuse to get the Levante out for a run. A wide choice of beans gives ample opportunity to experiment. A Christmas tradition in our house is to splash out on a small packet of premium beans; last year it was Kopi Luwak and this time Jamaican Blue Mountain. Both lovely but far too expensive to buy more than once a year.
The Delonghi has a built in milk steamer, but there is no way to control the texture produced. I’ve stopped using it and have bought a separate Dualit milk steamer. Now my cappuccinos and flat whites are no longer indistinguishable from each other.

As per the Good Morning thread, thinking of getting a coffee machine for the office we already have a nice Gaggia in the kitchen but thinking something quick and simple maybe a pod type machine. Knowing most of you lot are fuelled by petrol of coffee I wondered if anyone has any recommendations?

Simple pod machine that makes great tasting coffee in a range of different blends its hard to beat the nespresso vertuo range. They always have offers on this time of year so at the moment you can get the pro machine for £99.

79690

They also do offers where you pay £1 for the machine and pay so much per month as a coffee subscription which is credit to use in the pod shop.

Depending on how many people you have in the office then they also have a business range.

I prefer bean to cup, I had a Jura which lasted 10yrs before the brew unit died - we tried a Nespresso machine and whilst the coffee is good the cost and waste of the pods stopped us. Now have a Melitta Solo bean to cup which is much cheaper to run, however it does mean excessive use and caffeine intake!

I've worked in several offices with bean to cup machines and never rated them at all, for the quality. Looks like there was something wrong. One of them was using Illy which is normally passable if nothing else!
