Very funny C.....like it

There are four people (excluding sales calls) that ring our landline. Mrs C's parents, Mrs C's brother, because I refuse to give me my mobile and a couple of friends ours (no idea why).
Oh and my mother sends texts to it sometimes.....

Can you imagine if someone hacked into 02 and it went down for a few weeks:p
Back to the 1980's then

You sprogs would have to start learning new skills:D

Granted we would but all and everyone here would get to enjoy a break away without the instant connection of emails lol, perhaps it was correct in the 1980s lol

Real world problems, no issues with my network but even if there was I am pretty sure I would survive

Just because my phone rings doesn't mean I need to answer it. I'll speak to people when I want to or when I'm ready thanks.

Mine stays on silent and with all notifications turned off. I’ll check for calls, emails, Slack messages or wtf other shite drifts through when I’m ready.

Presumably we end up in the latter category Adam?

My mobile phone (and e-comms in general) gets a lot of use, but I like to think that I use it on my terms. It’s certainly the case that I don’t feel compelled to reply to everything the moment it arrives.

It was great when we went skiing to Andorra a couple of years ago.
Researched before we went, being 'tax free' was out of Europe regarding phone tariffs, even Three.
Calls in/out were over a £1/min, data, well forget it!
All phones off for a week.
Took 4 walkie talkies instead, worked brilliantly, it was good to talk!
