Not starting

My 56 plate Coupe GT is refusing to start after a brief run this morning (during which she ran fine but cooling fans were on even though engine temp was low). Perhaps more exhaust fumes than usual, but hard to tell on these cold mornings. Engine seemed to make a ‘clunk’ when turned off. Starter motor turns but engine doesn’t fire. Any advice greatly appreciated

First checks, battery negative terminal where the cable connects to the battery fixing has not broken or loose.

The 10mm nuts on the piggyback positive connector loose.

Does it start cold but does not warm restart, suspect the TDC sensor.

Immobiliser dash light is off yes?

With the ignition on, use a key on the fuel rails, depressing the valve, fuel should spurt 1m, excercise caution with eyes and fuel over a hot engine.

Unplug the MAF and try again.
