After chatting with outrun over the last few weeks I am just putting this out there to gauge interest in a northern meet up.

Open to all but targeted for the Stoke area upwards and Scotland downwards folk.

Loose plan is as follows :

The Scottish contingent if any want to attend @outrun will hopefully lead down south with pick up points along the way.

Stoke upwards we will have a couple of pick up points along the M6.

The plan is an early ish start with both convoys meeting up in the lakes. I suggest a tour of the southern lakes and a pre booked lunch somewhere in the area.

After lunch continue the tour before heading south to the ribble valley. Evening meal at a restaurant with views across the ribble valley.

Disperse from there but if anybody wants to stay over in lancs and have a few drinks i can arrange a hotel locally.

Dates wise im looking at either the end of July/ early August or push it back to September/ October.

Due to hotels being busy at weekend with weddings that have been pushed back. It may be easier to do this on a Sunday and stay over Sunday night.

If your interested put your name down below and we will try and come up with a date that gives us maximum attendance.

For the moment we just need an idea of numbers to see if it is worth progressing.

Anyone from the south or deep south is obviously also welcome. :D

We're needing something to do on the August Bank Holiday now Greenbelt is cancelled. Not sure if Mrs C would trade oysters and chamapagne for a day with the denizens of this place, but potentially swing it with a trip to areas we've not been to....

Most of the gazebos and marquees blew away in the last couple of days.
If i arranged it now pubs would be open outside subject to weather conditions.
It was Detectorists quote S03E06 but I suspected it was a bit obscure!

Might be interested in combining this with a drive between Gloucestershire and Scotland (to or from), which we do from time to time (next one coming up quite soon).

We usually do something like this:

West Side

and this:

East Side

We’ve rented a cottage for the last week of August in the Lake District. If the dates work we’d be up for it. I’ll even be driving something Italian!

Will be up for this. Moving to that neck of the woods in June. New location Ingleton so short hop into the lakes.
Will be doing the westside of NC500 as soon as we move too. Perhaps while the roof is being replaced.

I'm Lake District based and would be interested, depending on dates.

I think there's better scope for a quality drive in the North Lakes (near Shap and towards Co Durham), but I'd be happy to go along with most things.

Bear in mind, Windermere area and honeypot locations will be heaving as lockdown is released.

And, if driving around the Shap area then a visit to the ruins of Lowther Castle might be worthwhile (its amazing to see the progress in the past 15 years or so). Plus a stop at the Shap Chippy is recommended.
