Car is full of fuel, and I’ve just paid my DART crossing.

Am not going to inflate my tyres until I get to the garage near the airfield. I don’t fancy driving 70 miles round the M25 on 50psi tyres.

See you all in the morning!

I'll be bringing an air compressor and battery pack so you can borrow this to pump up tyres there if you want. I'll be doing it there.

I just inflated my tyres to the normal pressure. Are they supposed to be higher? Anyway, fully fuelled and ready for an early start. To avoid the inevitable consequences of being on the glide path for pigeons, starlings and rooks I've also tucked it up under its new hat. Stormshield+, if anyone's interested, and jolly good it seems too.

Apparently the instruction is to inflate to maximum pressure written on the sidewalll - will do it once I’m there in the morning.

Ditto, in that case. I'll not be driving all the way there with my tyres at the wrong pressure.

I hope you guys all have a great time tomorrow & you come back with much more confidence with your various metal.....not that much more is needed judging by some of the driving I have observed by the group.
It’s not looking good for me on Wednesday at the moment still having a slight walking issue :-(

Warning graphic content...LOL

I'm delighted that those of you going are doing this. I've done 3 of them, plus activity days. I guarantee you'll drive home slower than you drive there

You will learn loads! As mentioned, if you have a heavy car (more than an Elise) pump your tyres up if you like your alloys and sidewalls.

As ever when learning new stuff, open ears and mind, try to do exactly as asked even if it's counter intuitive at first.... Which it may well be!

You'll surprise yourself as to how capable your car is in trained pair of hands, and very possibly realise how close you've been to binning your pride and joy all these years.

IMHO, the day is excellent value for money and could be worth a huge amount to you at some point in the future. Enjoy!!

Thanks Dan. A bit nervous but I'm sure we will learn loads and all seem pretty level headed and good listeners/learners

I'll be very surprised how capable my TVR will be as it seems a real job full of concentration needed to drive it quick. Never driven anything that requires so much ability to get it going briskly.

I suppose that is half the point. Most modern cars can be driven fairly quickly by most numpties. The same certainly can't be said of this tricky little madam!

I’ve got something close to 55k between the 4200 and the GS so I have the measure of them but added factor of knackered Vredestiens on the back and a failing tie rod to contend with making it twitchy to say the least. It will be fun and if the tyres are still inflated at the end of the day I may we’ll go for a MAF style burn out; always wanted to do that....

Yes, agreed. My car is far more capable than me and very happy to bite if I drive like a prat. Without some guidance this means that I'll always either be driving Miss Daisy or I'll end up in a field.

Just got back from today’s adventures.

Overall it was great fun, and the high points were meeting Dean, Adam and Newton (and Oliver briefly, albeit I was distracted at the time!), the high speed bend, and realising just how much I have to learn about car control.

Low point was completely delaminating and shredding my driver’s side front tyre and requiring the services of not one but two mobile tyre trucks!

Below is a pic of the offending tyre

Great day chaps and pleasure to spend some time with you all. I'm still feeling quite nauseous!

I learnt so much and would recommend it to anyone.

It was a real handful to learn how to tame the TVR. A long way from tamed but I know so much more about the car now and don't feel so intimidated also a bit more confident with it.

Amazed how much fun it was and how kind of capable or suited it was to have some fun on the course.

Those Aston stoppers Adam are a world away from my paltry numbers. Very impressive.

I reckon Newton spun the least so likely suggests where the better driving skills were. The other 3 of us provided most of the entertainment though! I've not piroeted so much on one day which is likely why I feel so nauseous.

Bloody good fun all round today; mine is all tucked up and under its cover awaiting moe play, it has developed a slightly worrying tick a bit like a tappet tick I’ll check it sometime. Made it home on the shrededsteins! Got to burn them out a bit at the end, just hope Adam got that on video.

Great company and John can change that avatar from his diamond in a goats ar$e to his ruined tyre now!
