Its been a while since I made any postings - and somewhat unfortunate that on this occasion it's to seek solace and sympathy over a small bit of bad news.

A couple of weeks ago, whilst parked at the golf club, some 'tosser' reversed into the front of my 4200, dinged it and drove off without reporting it. Whilst the damage is not overly extensive, it does appear to need a new calendar, grille, and most likely the whole front bumper section.

Pictures attached. It's hard to see from the pics but the bumper has been compressed, fracturing the paintwork (look like long scratches) but its also somewhat mis-shapen.

Of course it'll be an insurance job, but on my excess / premium, however this does lead me to consider the possibility of staying with the original front or do I / can I change to a GS front? My bad luck does does also create other opportunity too - the front was quite badly stone chipped, the side lights are full of sand and maybe now I can get that proper chrome grille insert fitted also.

Any thoughts and inputs greatly appreciated?

(Not sure how the smiley face appeared on the subject header - not really smiling about it?!)

Sorry to hear your tales of woe Buster , its a complete frustration all the way round and i guess you have already done your fair share of cussing,Yes the GS bumper bolts straight on all 4200 lights will fit normal , GS grill is different abut not a wallet breaker at £205 would certainly give you a more updated and aggressive look especially with the extended front splitter , the difference of a new 4200 bumper against a Gransport one is only a couple of hundred at most , just make sure you order a non US one with headlight washers

Thats really bad fortune, is there no way you can work out who was there as i assume the golf club is prvate and may have cctv?

In the meantime, the silver lining is you can attesdn to the things you mentioned
I think a GS bumper would look lovely

best of luck getting it sorted

I would be gutted to but happy that it would make me do the GS front.....There are some muppets about and most of them are golfers...(please do not take offence if you play golf)

Nice find Adam.

I got hit in the rear at a roundabout, and my bumper did the same as yours Buster, its just the paint cracking, and nothing will be wrong with the actual bumper, so its an easy fix. The grill could be re bent back into shape very easily, just take it to a re chromers, they are magic at getting bent things back into shape....or you could go for the GS front, but it will cost you.
