I tried it of course it’s bollox!

If you are referring to the turn ignition on and wait for light to go out before staring it’s not “bollox.
If you don’t do it, that car will soon sort itself out, but for initial manoeuvring this technique made a massive difference for me, especially reversing on a gravel drive.

Nareman at Nuvola told me and I have seen at least one other independent refer to this in other threads.
The prrrof of the pudding is in the eating so to speak - works for me

“However, as seen from many other Maserati forums, there's easy solution: Keep ignition on for few seconds (until lights go off) before starting the car. The Gearbox/clutch pump does its magic during those few seconds and car is SMOOTH to drive! :autofahrer:”

It is nothing to do with the warning lights going out per se, it is just allowing enough time for the system to do a 'clutch learn' and set the biting point or whatever.

Why don't we just settle with 'No one knows why it works, and some people are not sure if it works, but it seems to for some'

Oh yee of little faith. It's the plain-up truth, and worth every penny it cost me to learn. The chief tech at my MD still thinks of me as a God as a result of this tip, which they didn't know. They've probably sold 2* more MC shifts since, the decrepit punters more pleased with the MC's demeanor. That'll be 4 cars.

Have you tried the launch control? Engine on, pull both paddles for 45 sec and wow!

I tried and got transmission failure but YMMV....

Now that would be praying to the Gods of Italian engineering and little bits of aluminium and wire a tad too much for my liking. I'd probably try it on a old 599 though, if it weren't mine.
