I'd agree with that as well. Why buy a QPV GTS for 25k when you could have this for circa £5k more:

Why buy an E39 M5 when you could have an F10 M5 ? A 993 Porsche over a modern 991?
A QP6 is nice, but the styling of the QP5 is, to my eyes streets ahead, a design classic in fact. I do like the NA V8 too, even though it’s slower/less efficient. As are the two examples above.
Not saying I don’t like modern cars, I do, but I’d have a nice QP5 over a QP6 every time.

I'm referring to the Blue Oceano QPV GTS currently on AT for £24k... number plate reads 'KNOB' or something similar, incidentally. Happy to share more details on this if needed, although I suspect changing the wood trim would be an utter faff (and expense) and not really worth it.

Each to their own! I'm of course biased, but despite the amazing value the QP6 GTS now represents I don't think its as beautiful to look at, nor am I a massive fan of the interior. Never driven one/been in one, mind.

I’m not knocking your choice in any way at all, i get it entirely. However, I do think the earlier QPV is better looking and the later/current car with that engine represents great value. The interior of the current car is a nice place to be provided the trim selection is good and the modernity of the car in general is nice. The earlier cars have better quality leather but the mod cons are well, not mod at all. That’s why i’d go for a nice Sport GTS or a newer GTS, but as I’m not you, nor am i going to buy a QP, my opinion counts for diddly squat precisely!

And it would be a boring place if everyone had the same opinion! :)

Funnily enough my local garage suggested an ideal compromise - the newer QP6 GTS engine in the QPV GTS :D

Please share. The KNOB registration must have been removed as it's not recognised on an MOT history search.

Harbour dreams of rescuing the blue Knob car. Can't have been many in that car anywhere, let alone the UK...
