No, not Alan Partridge and Bangkok Chickboys, but a little thing on the QP that might be cool, might not be, probs works on most other Maserati of the era.

  1. Park up
  2. Fold mirrors in
  3. Engine/ignition off
  4. Set mirror knob to middle setting (no mirror selected)
  5. Go away (shopping, bed, cottaging, whatever)
  6. Return to car, unlock
  7. Get in car, ignition/engine on
  8. Mirrors fold back out automatically

Ok, not proper auto folding mirrors but half way there....

Need to try that on the GT. I assume it will work anyway, as your just changing the switch position with power off, same if you do the wipers, lights ,indicators etc

That's cool, I wonder if it works on the earlier 3200 electrical systems architecture!

Nice info. Seems crazy they're not automatic. All the motors are there anyway.
Probably a £500 option when new , my merc didn't come with the SD card for the Satnav, I was expecting £15-20 for a replacement card but it was £100s because while it's all plumbed in only the card activates it

Same with my first 4200. 2K option from the factory or a £12 GPS antenna off ebay and a CD flash on the NIT.

What I tend to do... halfway between being automatic!!!

One of my big questions has been the auto dipping when reversing... my UK car only dips the nearside... so the LHD would dip the other... someone somewhere has coded an ecu to remove one mirror from the process...

Surely it would have been easier and cheaper to just allow both mirrors to dip when reversing?!
