Do we have a thread on here for nice driving routes? People have mentioned a few, but maybe we should be collecting them somewhere. This month's Classic & Sports Car has an article with some listed.

This is a North Devon route in the area between Taunton and Barnstaple.

Mostly scenic, plus a hairpin-filled toll road at Porlock, apparently. I haven't driven it yet.

Compiled from a mixture of sources including:
Classic & Sports Car Magazine (Sept 2021)

One can also get fresh oysters at Porlock Weir. I don't like oysters . Nice trails (by feet) all around, nice combes when the sun shines.

At the top of the Porlock Toll road:

Nice twisty woodland drive on a good surface up to the toll gate near the middle, then moorland with views.

I used to have a link to a website that highlighted the twisties.

Happy to show some exceptional roads in Wales. Not the usual main roads Google tells you about.

That was the intention of this thread, to tease out local knowledge.

The toll rode is cheating, much more fun to drive up porlock hill itself!
I live in Taunton and often go and do this route for a bit of fun on a weekend. If anyone ever fancies joining me just let me know.

I organise drives for a group of us in the west country, and Porlock hill is one of our regular routes, switched traction control off last time

Let me know next time you are planning one if you fancy having another car tag along
