Our LM group always raise a glass on Saturday evening of the race to departed members of the team and this year was no different even though we were all in different locations

So sorry to hear this!
I never met him, but he's been such an active member in the years I've been on here, always giving an input and contributing to the content. He will be missed.

My sympathy to his family and close friends. RIP.

Not been on the forum for a while.

Such a shock and a great shame that Ste will not be here to keep the red flag flying.

Ste was, in this sense, a bit of an anachronism in a Maserati forum but life is richer when apparently disparate worlds collide.

He will be sorely missed and hard to replace if that is even possible.

Hi,

Not too sure who on here knew my dad Ste but I just thought I’d make a quick post to let you all know that unfortunately he passed away at the weekend.
Only just been made aware of this as not been on the forum so much of late due to so many other commitments. So sorry to hear this. Sending our best wishes and love at what is always a very difficult time.

I was lucky to meet up with your dad last year for a couple of beers and a curry in Leeds. We both have had a lifelong career in IT/tech so met up to discuss if your dad could get involved in my business to help me. Ultimately the logistics between myself being in the South East and him being what I would deem up north was a hurdle that was hard to overcome for what the business needed at the time. It certainly wasn't down to him as a character or his knowledge. I would have loved to have worked with him. I certainly needed the help.

We had a great evening chatting away for hours. He was a lovely man and I enjoyed his company immensely. Always made me laugh with his honest and controversial views which is what was so great about him. A great contributor on here for many years and never afraid to speak his mind at any cost which is what I admired about him. You always knew where you stood with Steve.

You should be very proud to call him your dad. I know he had many challenges over the years and got through them to get to the other side. An immensely knowledgeable and capable man.

As Matt has alluded to we should all take this as a slap in the face to make sure we have our priorities right. To enjoy every day not endure it. Also make the most of the opportunities that present themselves however trivial and simple they may seem. Sometimes in life the simple things are the best.

RIP Steve. You should be very happy and proud with your contribution to the world.

Wow , this is a blow .......... So so sorry to hear this , belated condolences to all the family, from one of his greatest admirers and adversaries, tongue in cheek we enjoyed many a topic almost always choosing opposite sides of any equation to add a bit of spice to the conversation, what was very apparent is that actually we were quite similar in backgrounds yet we never had the opportunity to meet , like dad i too worked away most of the time .............much to my regret ............believe me he left his mark on life thats without doubt .....go well in life kids

Hi guys, thank you so much for all the messages. Definitely got me a little chocked up this morning! So nice to see other people appreciating him just as much as we did.
We are now at a point of desperately needing his car sold. I’ll be honest we’ve not been proactive with it as we have no clue and I also am very hesitant to part with it (but I have to!). Could anyone offer any advice? I’ve got no clue on it other than it’s blue with a sunroof, a QP5 and it has new tyres :(
Thank you all help is appreciated.

Sorry to hear the news of your father passing and also having to sell his car.

They are not the easiest cars to sell, but of course a picture tells a 100 stories; I would suggest -

  • A few current photos of the car and the interior
  • Millage and service history (The more detail the better on the latter)
  • What year it is and the engine number (That should be in the front of the service history book)
  • A new MOT, if thats not possible a record of the last MOT
  • Any modifications
  • A price (Without the above it is very hard to estimate, however WBAC are pretty close to the mark)
  • Offer on here first as there may be someone who is looking for a cherished one
  • You could try 'sale or Return' but you will need to factor c£3k for this and dealers will only want the very best example
