Hi everyone, newbie here. Bought my first Maserati GranTurismo a few weeks ago. It's a beautiful 2010 4.7 S with 51k miles and I'm very happy with it! Never owned anything like it before, but thought it was time to treat myself after a difficult few years! I'm based in South East London. Car was an original HR Owen London car on a LJ plate, which made its way to Devon (where I bought it). Overall very straight but I'm sure there's a few bits and bobs it needs (one of the front plastic grills in the bumper has come loose - common or not?).

Anyway, I'm interested to learn more from everyone on the forum. I've had a professional valet done already, but the first thing I want to do is get a full service (proper 2 year one). I've done a bit of research already on the forum and lots of good things about Nareman at Nuvelo, AV Engineering and Giallo. Prices are a bit all over the place though for the full 2 year service (although I might be making newbie errors in comparisons). Seems like anything from £950 to £1800 for the full 2 year service (that includes gearbox oil change). Am I right or massively missing something here? I dont want to skimp on the service - I want the best I can get, the car deserves it but don't want to overpay (I'll spend that on fuel instead)! Looking to drive the car down to Goodwood Revival in a few weeks and would love to have it serviced before that - already looking forward to it!

Happy Sunday!

Welcome to the forum, you don’t have to be mad to come here, but it helps.

Regarding the 2 year service, it depends on what you know has been done as there are really 2 year, 4 year, 6 year and 8 year services, with costs escalating in the following order 2, 6, 4, 8.

Have a chat with Matt and Ash at Sports Italia, they will give you the lowdown and give your car a thorough going over while in. You will probably need the subframe treating and undersealing while you are there.

A big warm welcome and what a lovely GT…Always loved silver on a GT as it shows those lovely lines so well.

Thank you! Also love the silver!

Good point on the 2,4,6,8 year service. Service history is as follows -

2012 - 10k miles (HR owen)
2015 - 19k miles (Maserati Colchester)
2018 - 30k miles (Independant)
2019 - 42k miles (Independant)
2021 - 50k miles (Independant)

The most recent service didnt have the gearbox oil change (which I was told was an indication it wasnt a 'full' service). Also got receipts from the last few years for new pads/discs and other bits and bobs.

Any indication of what the price differences are on those different services? I am tempted to get the whole 'shbang' depending on prices.

So, on balance, if we assume that the MD services were by the book, it has had a 2 and a 4. The last one would be a 6 so you are probably looking at an 8, which should be oil for engine & gearbox, spark plugs, carbon canister (almost certainly not done). So you are probably hovering around the higher end of your estimates.

Welcome, good to see photos up nice and early bodes well for the future.

You seem to have identified all the main players for servicing and as above it's all in the detail as to what has been done in the past, the more paperwork / invoices you have the easier it will will be to identify the next steps.

The most impotent job is to get out and enjoy, no matter how pretty they looked parked up they are so much better on the road when the audible traits meet the styling and the engineering to give the full all round package of enjoyment

Hello and welcome :)
As Andy said. The Maserati silver really shows off the curves, which is what its all about.
Well, that and the engine orchestra up front ;)
One word of caution. Its a bit tongue in cheek.
Before you might be tempted to put money into ICE, think carefully about how much you really
listen to the radio in the car. I'd be shocked if I'd used the ICE more than a dozen times in the
coming up to four years that I've owned mine.
At the mention of four years of ownership or caretaking, depending on how you look at it ;)
I can't recall anyone mentioning on the forum that they'd bought a lemon. Can anyone else
remember any forum member having major issues with their Granturismo?

I know that this is a very unscientific way of looking at model reliability, but still.
Anyhoodles. Pamper. Drive. Smile :)
