Revs, throttle opening, speed, steering wheel angle etc etc etc

Just deck it :D

C
You gents are on fire tonight, coffee everywhere!!

Please don't think I drive like a h0m0 ( figure of speech - I'm not 1 bit homophobic).
As I've mentioned before I "work" from home and I'm currently reading through the manual, I still don't know what half the buttons do. My seat is set to heated level 3 which I haven't worked out how to change although it feels so nice ( as above, I'm not a h0m0). If anyone is within 30/50 miles of Lowestoft I'd love to come see you and you can give me a once over - the car FFS! ;)

This is one of my fav messages, I LOL'ED!!

Really happy to read this.

On the note of gear changes, sometimes it's almost instant and sometimes if feels soooo sloooow. Is this due to the revs?

:p

It is based on engine speed, driving mode (normal or sport) and engine speed. If it is in normal and doing 2500 rpm with no throttle, it will be slower than at 7000, flat out in sport.

If it is inconsistent in the same conditions then that is something else.

Mine is never truly happy when cold, or not used for a few days, like it's sulking.

I always drive in manual sports, turn left into village, roundabout ahead, I feel car wants third, so paddle up, nothing, more gas, paddle up, nothing, bit more and I get the big green 3, slow down for roundabout it's a jerky auto down change (cos I'm not quick enough to paddle down) and it's in a bad mood until the temp needle is off the bottom. As soon as it's a quarter up it's perfect, smooth as silk.

F1 gearbox has a brain, but it's not a human brain, its a sulky Italian woman's brain.....

Wouldn't change it for the world, maybe for Kylie Minogue. I'd change it for Kylie.

Brilliant :)

I'm pleased mine isn't the only sulky Italian woman.

My Mrs drove it today as her car was having MOT so we drove to Wrentham about 5 miles south. She loved it but didn't want sport mc shift mode, that's for another, drier day.

Better get used to it! one time I was driving to work (mine's a DD) M1 Sheffield, do it regularly, it just felt **** from the front, like I'd thrown a balance weight or something got bent, small but noticeable shimmer. Never happened before and never happened again.....

Some time I get in her in the morning, then I get into the car (har-har) and the brake pedal has lost all vacuum and it's rock hard, same for the pedal (har-har). No lights, pedal pumps up, no issue, but I know it's something to to with the slight incline on the drive, whether I reverse in or go forward, and how the hill-hold might or might no be engaged.

Some good things, car had new tyres all round on 98k (with clutch) now on 110k, and I've between 3.5mm and 4.5mm tread left, P-Zero's all round, not bad! Yes I bought an electronic tread gauge...

Dull picture due to damaging my phone's camera. The Subaru is a Hawkeye with forged Cosworth engine, spent far too much on it including £2,000 cosmetically last week including respray. I barely used to use it other than track but it's now getting used a lot more to keep the mileage off the Maser.

Is it me or is my arch gap too big, 22" alloys but maybe need dropping an inch? Rears have spacers but fronts don't.

Don’t worry about the Subaru - Maser combo.... we all have them ;-)

The Maser will never be a Sccoby substitute... but it’s not meant to be. It’s a GT and driven that way, all the better for it..

I have a Forester Sti daily running an unbeatable B-road set up. Proper low down spooling at the behest of full top end power...

Also have a mint V3 Sti V-limited and showroom condition 22b...

I love all and they really offset each other nicely!

its maybe a little high. doesn't the GTS has adjustable stocks ? if so take it to blackboots who should be about to help you out, they will also make sure the alignment is still ok.
like the wheel design, shame its seems lost when looking side on.

Performance wise - wouldn’t the DBW be a significant improvement of responsiveness and make the car feel much quicker?

I thought DWB meant Don’t Wrap it Bud ! Couldn’t figure out how to fit the it into it lol. Smiffy , big thumbs up. Not me but hats of to your Mrs (or for yourself justifying the bold colour)
I’ve read thi post top to bottom today and I’ll be another who admits it’s not for me but salute you and agree when push comes to shove , F the rest it’s you and your car.
I have the issue of looking young so look a bit on the (young Prixxx side of the scale) don’t change it, you bought it because you loved it. Surly that’s why people buy Italian cars? Or is it because we love the reliability lol

Hi Oliver, Cheers.

My mrs finishes work at 1 and all she wants to ever do is "take the maser out somewhere", so off for a pub lunch, I'll drive there and have a few beers and she can drive home ( I just have to park it in our car port ). As I've said before the insane attention is a bit much. I swear people thinks it's real gold and I must be a millionaire - I'm not .
