Hi all, have always loverd the GT and as ever, browsing AutoTrader is always a dangerous game...

A 2007 4.2 has popped up locally so i wanted to see if anyone knew the car as the dealer is not a specialist and have limited information on it.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202002036878970?radius=1500&postcode=ct196dt&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&model=GRANTURISMO&advertising-location=at_cars&make=MASERATI&sort=distance&page=1

Being Bordeaux Pontevecchio i was hoping it might be know as there do not apepar to be mny about. Only has two pieces of history from what i have seen and needs an MOT.

The alternator was replaced by Giallo in 2019 and a service at Migliore in 2017. I have spoken with both comapies who were very helpful but could shed no further light. Looks like some bushes were on their way out from MOT history though these seem to have been done except for the advisory in 2019. No idea about subframe condition currently.

Plate: DF57 TTZ
Chassis Number: ZAMGH45C000035791
Engine Number: 127021

Given the potential issues i wanted to get a PPI done but nowhere is able to travel currently (unless anyone knows someone in the south east?).

I think head says wait until things are more open and perhaps given the age and unknowns look for a known quantity but the colour and mileage seems attractive.

Any assistance gretfully received!

That colour is lovely, really like it but only a grand less than I paid for the 2009 4.7 two months ago. Seems plenty of room to get for a much better price if a positive inspection came back.

The colour is tempting me! Dangerous...

Garage is holding pretty firm on the price, maybe £19k at a push as I am p/x'ing (unless i can sell first) so would have to be preapred to walk away if the inspection reveals issues and they don't want to lower.

It's a lovely colour in the flesh. As with most Maserati been for sale for ages and think it was up for sale before and mentioned on here......Get it inspected and if it's a good one that's a lot of car for the money.

Second dealer for this car. It was IIRC for sale last summer.

It does look nice but eyes open as it is a 4.2 and not young so check for subframe and bush wear as well as engine mounts, cam cover leaks and engine No re veriaitors.

Voicey is close by for the PPI, check out AV Engineering. He would give you a thorough report. There's not much that would get by him if anything. It would give you a better idea of whether to buy or not and haggling points.

Thanks for the advice all - had a great chat with Dale @ Prestige who is hopefully going to sort a PPI soon!

Shall update with the findings.

Looks lovely in that colour. Looks like KAP was advertising this in August 2019 - so they've either had it a long time, or they've sold it and taken it back in.

Out of interest, what car are you changing to get a Granturismo?

They said they took it in p/x against V8 Vantage but not when this was so may well have had it a while - was up at £21595 I think for a while.

I currently have a Jaguar XF SV8 which is great and very understated so a bit of a change.

It was on sale 12 weeks ago when I started looking for mine. Loved the colour but the temptation of going 4.7 over 4.2 for the same money was just toooo much for me to resist.
Have you spoken to Richard grace and nareman at nuvola? They might be able to find you something?

Not yet, worth a few calls in that case - max budget is 20k - did you manage to get into a 4.7 for that (don't have to answer that!)

P/x option is a big advantage currently given the restrictions too but the right car is more important.

Screenshot of where I got the August 2019 date from. Looks like previous owner replaced it with a 2009 BMW 6 series.

Ah - very useful thank you, just goes to show the power of the internet!

Certainly some wiggle room at 9 months in the showroom, just not sure about the trade for a Vantage unless the buyer moved this on also for the 630.

Yeah, or put his private plate on a 630 he/she already owned, instead of the Vantage. I guess it doesn’t really matter (though I always like it when I see someone has traded a car in and stayed with the same brand, as it suggests their ownership was probably positive!).

It’s a long time for dealer to hold stock though, so might give a bit more negotiating confidence!
