hello all, just joined up to try to get some first hand owner knowledge of the GranTurismo.

previously owned a couple of alfa romeos so have a soft spot for italian cars and the GT stirs something inside that needs to be investigated.

havent driven one yet so looking to try out the various flavours over the coming months to see which one suits me best. colour wise im pretty conservative, i do like the Grigio granito but Bianco Pregiato does keep catching my eye. red leather is a no no, although i saw one with red stitching on black leather which was pretty nice.

you really dont see many of them north of the border which is another reason for my interest.

Trying to be sensible and investigate eveything first but its really hard when the car just looks :jpheart:! i keep stopping at this one on pistonheads and reviewing my man maths as its top of the budget... http://www.pistonheads.com/classifi...ning-maserati-warranty-until-oct-2014/2226147

i foresee a long few months and a really annoyed Wife that i am constantly on car sites reading up on all the options. :battered:

Welcome. I was parked up in Edinburgh the other day and there was one along the road. Always tend to see one or two in Glasgow when I pop over so they are becoming more prevalent.

There are four types of GranTurismos to buy so take your time to get the one that suits you best.

Hi, and welcome. Good luck in the search, I was told this may be for sale soon. 1620111_825061610844231_405872712_n.jpg Think it's red interior though.

I love the Grigio Granitio on the GranTurismo, and that was my ideal spec before I ended up getting a (pre-owned) Nero Carbonio one back in 2010. Welcome to the forum, and happy hunting.

Thanks Bob, i ahve pretty much ruled out the stradale as its a bit over the budget and my use will be weekend tourer rather than sporty runs.
i know the general steer seems to be get a 4.7 S or sport but i dont want to rule out the 4.2 till i try it and see how it fits for me.

will be fun getting to know the car :)

Thanks tilum, I have been reading lots of your posts already, very informative and really helpful on gearbox choice :) i do tend to lean towards dark exterior colours (both my alfas were black) but thinking the GT needs a bit more flair... (i will probably end up with black)

That's right, it depends on use and traffic density. Unless you are really pushing it, the 4.2 is fine.

He wishes! LOL. That's his dream car; well it was until he took Blondie's yellow MC Stradale for a spin ha ha.
