Sorry Gazcw i should have stated that isn't my Ghibli. My brother started looking at the German tat before asking my opinion. When I showed him what else he could have for similar money, we bought it.
I'll pm conearo to combine the accounts, thank you.
Andy, you missed out. Even if she did blow the HP hose from the accumulator for the gearbox in the Alps about 3 weeks after I sold it!
So since I bought her I've done some minor work to get her back to a good standard.
The whole car was degreased, clay'd, cut & polished with a mop to get rid of all swirls, scratches, chips etc. Pretty much flawless now.
Same with the wheels.
The interior was washed with warm soapy water & a brush, again to remove all greasy contaminants before being treated to some good quality leather feed. Scrubbed the carpets before fitting new floor mats to freshen the interior (only £30 for a set!)
The boot was damp & changing the number plates I found the plastic number plate attachments on the boot lid were missing & allowing water in behind the number plate. Sealed the holes & dried the boot out & the problem was solved!
That was it until last week. The exhaust was just too quiet for my taste so I removed the back boxes, opened the tops up & removed all the pipework inside before welding the tops back on & spraying them black again. Factory looking exhaust with a much sportier, almost aggressive sound with no droning or booming.
The black calipers were looking at bit tired so they have been refurbished in yellow for a dash of colour on what is a very big black car!
Whilst these upgrades aren't to everyone's taste, from my view of ownership enjoyment it now offers me everything I want from her.
And for Christmas I treated my wife & I to a weekend luggage set & watches. Whilst I don't usually go for fashion watches they were perfect for what I wanted. The power of branding & marketing, eh?!
