Afternoon all

Long time lurker, first time poster. Directed here from Pistonheads, I've had a long time crush on the GT. With a fairly significant birthday coming up in about 12 months time I thought I would post up to introduce myself as I am sure I will be soaking up all the expertise and experience on the forum as I do my research before I (hopefully) get my hands on a GT. With a budget of £25ish k, I am hoping that I will be able to get my hands on a half decent 4.7, ideally with a dark exterior colour combined with a light interior. I am based up north in Leeds so interested in recommendations for Maserati specialists in my neck of the woods. I have previously owned Jaguars mainly, and a few years with an XFR that somehow managed to lunch its engine thanks to faulty timing chain tensioners almost broke my love of all things petrol powered, but a GT to make my 40th seems like a great idea! Just need to get through the next year or so which will see me roll around in a 'shed' once my lease XF goes back, whilst I save up my pennies to get me to the magical £25k mark.

Welcome and good luck with the search when you get to it. GT’s are extraordinary value for what you’re getting. Just make sure the usual bits that wear out have been dealt with or servicing costs will quickly see you run for cover. A PPI is essential.

Welcome you certainly have come to the right place for advice, as above a bad Maserati can be a nightmare a PPI will be the best £300 you ever spend on one

Welcome Ali.............I think the closest specialist to you would be Autoshield in Manchester now-a-days.

A big warm welcome...You will get plenty of great advice on here...One man to talk to is Richard Grace as he is the oracle on used Maserati. If you are looking to buy over the next 12 months you should be able to get a good 4.7 for your budget ...They have started to dip into that now and can not see then stopping so good luck with you hunt for the perfect car.

An avid Mas owner with 2 Ghiblis ( one for me and one for wife) and a GTC Sport for pure enjoyment driving. I‘m on several FB Mas Groups also. Love the cars. Had cars serviced at 2 great dealers, Mas of Palm Beach and Mas of New England(Boch). Highly Recommend both. Enjoy others insight and sharing of any issues .

Welcome.

I'm in Leeds as well but I'm afraid there is a dearth of specialists local to us. Autoshield in Manchester is the default choice and are excellent. I've used the Supercar Centre in Sheffield for some minor work and they seem to know what they are doing. I've also had Enso Automotive in Knaresborough mentioned which is run by a Ferrari trained guy but I've not used them myself yet.

Good luck in the search; happy to share my limited knowledge on stuff if you wish.

Welcome! I'm in Leeds and happy for you to have a play in my GT if you want to have a good look without pressure (I'm not selling it BTW). I've used Enso in Wetherby and Michael is truly excellent. He is a Ferrari and Maserari master tech.
If you want to meet up to see one properly just give me a bell.

Michael

Welcome to the club.
It's an interesting time for this type of car, and will be intrigued to see what you manage to get with your budget when the time comes.

The GT-S is amazing! Such an emotional experience, and such a usable car. There is no equivalent that I can see.

Keep us updated with the hunt.
