Evening Guys n Gals,
As it says in the title,
Looking to go to NY in November for 4/5 nights so looking for any info you worldly travelers may have,
Places / location to stay, getting around, must see sites and good places to eat and er "drink"
Anything really.
Thanks in advance,

Gallaghers steak house, best steak I have ever tasted and within a nice nostalgic atmosphere.

Yes visited Gallaghers back in April this year.
Agree, best steak I've ever had (and the most expensive, it isn't cheap, expect a bill of at least £300 for a couple, and that is not going overboard!)

We booked an airbnb apartment just off Time Square, above a barbers shop!
We walked everywhere, with just a few taxis.
There is the usual, Trump Tower!! Central Station, Central Park, Twin Towers memorial, Empire State building etc etc
What I would highly recommend however is the New York media boat, which is an ex. Navy rib a few hours cruising at speed the Hudson, out to the Statue of Liberty, under Brooklyn Bridge etc.
I would say it is a must! but pre-book http://www.nymediaboat.com/
Staying on the nautical theme, the Aircraft carrier Intrepid, with loads of planes, Concord, Space Shuttle etc. https://www.intrepidmuseum.org/AircraftCarrierIntrepid
Then take a walk on the High Line above the city, another must! http://www.thehighline.org/

If you fancy the climb up the Statue of Liberty - book in advance on line or you may be disappointed.
Easy city to get around, the metro is easy to navigate.
Taxis are useless and never seem to know hotels or restaurants, generally you need to know the address.

The USS Intrepid is worth a visit. WW2 aircraft carrier moored in New York with lots of interesting planes including Concorde and an SR71.

For goodness don't be polite. The ruder and aggressive the better otherwise they think that you're a ***

+1 also the helicopter trips round Manhattan are great. Personally I (nearly) stick to UK time and enjoy the city early in the morning but only been in the summer.

Don't forget helicopters can't fly over Manhattan anymore, only around, so no landing on top of towerblocks allowed either.

Not so sure about £300+ - you must have been out to impress!

How's about that for a meat counter??

It was a special occasion, and don't forget the cocktails before getting your table!

It was a bit peculiar inside........................a proper sports bar with tv's showing American football, yet alongside a real swish dining operation. Not to be missed though, post Broadway show, a perfect ending to a New York night.
