I have been looking at New tyres for the 4200 and came accross these Bridgestone Potenza Sport (as opposed to the normal S001) turns out they are a new tyre for 2021 designed to rival the Michelin PS4S in the "ultra" category.

Well done to Bridgestone for releasing a tyre onto the market and covering the smaller wheel sizes - hopefully it will be a good earner for them as they have the market segment for themselves. - I originally wanted PS4S but they are not available in 18" wheel sizes

I am booked in to have a pair of these fitted to the rear axle of the 4200 tomorrow - i will report back how they are. On the front I have Bridgestone Potenza S001 with quite a lot of tread left on them so I will wait a bit to do the fronts.

Also worth noting that Goodyear have released a similar ultra tyre called Eagle F1 Supersport but they have gone down a similar route as Michelin with only offering tyres for larger wheel sizes over 19" https://www.goodyear.eu/en_gb/consumer/tires/eagle_f1_supersport.EAGF1SUPSP.html

I’ve bought PS4S in 18 inch before

I had the M3 spec Bridgstones on my Alpina for a while and really liked them.

Cannot find them in the 18" 4200 wheel sizes then. That video I posted suggested there are only limited sizes available below 19" from Michelin

The D5 has Pireli P Zero in ALP specification - those will be changed for PS4S once they wear out as they were the tyre that Alpina developed the car on originally.

One thing I forgot to mention about the Bridgestone Potenza Sport - the chap in the YouTube video talks about the amount of tread they come with

Bridgestone "only" have 6.5mm from new which is a little less than the average for most brands which is 7.2mm and Goodyear which give you 8.5mm of rubber on the Asym 5

Sure about that?
The PS4 has been a BMW favourite in 18", but the PS4"s" hasn't been available in 18" sizes until very very recently.

Can confirm PS 4s is available as I have been tire shopping in the US. Ended up with Continentals after reading the performance reviews.

Both front and rear?

According to Michelin's own website they only stock the front tyre for the standard 18" 4200 (235/40/R18) and do not list any tyres that fit the rear (265/35/R18) (PS4S)

Maybe it’s US availability vs others. This is a quick check on tirerack.com. Not available until May, but they exist.
