Bit of advice please guys,
I need some new summer tires on my 3200 GT, the old ones are not worn by any means just 7 years old and have gone hard
It originally came on Pirelli P Zero's which for some reason were horrible..

Tyres that grip well in the dry and are not to bad in the wet would be ok, I'm not interested in how long they last

I don't do many miles, so a middle of the range tire would do fine, I don't want to fit cheapies!

What do you recon?

I just fitted a pair of Michelin SP4s on the rear (where a 3200GT needs it) to replace some P Zeros and there was a huge improvement. Michelin don't actually do SP4S in 265/35 x 18 just the SP4 but as Matt says the Michelins are more expensive. I had previously tried some Bridgestones as well (for obvious reasons I find the 3200GT eats rear tires like it's going out of fashion) which were excellent on my Porsche but they just didn't work well on the Maserati.

The Pirelli P Zeros are the manufacturer's recommendation because when the 3200GT was made, they were probably the best around. However, over the years, whilst other tire manufacturers both improved their compounds and released new products, Pirelli sadly didn't and now there are several more viable alternatives.

Good year eagle F1's on my car right now and they are good all round, great grip, and not too noisy or too ******* the potholes.

I started with Pirelli’s - changed to falkens and then switched to Goodyear’s F1’s easily the best of the three.

Goodyear Eagle F1...your hunt is over. Great on that chassis and dirt cheap too. If you want to spend more the Michelin 4S.
Just taken your advice on this and decided to try these on the rear, instead of refitting with Continental Contacts. So far so good! They seem to be a bit more forgiving with better grip in the corners, and maybe slightly less noisy ...
