Hi all. I have finally decided on which model to buy. Seen a very nice Cambiocorsa 4.2 with FSH and only 40k miles on her clock for £16,000. This will be a sunny weekend second car for me to play with and keep for a long long time. Seems a good deal to me on paper. Going to see it at a dealership on the weekend.

Just a couple of quickies....how often are the timing belt renewal intervals and what is roughly average mileage for a new clutch change (paddle shift gearbox on it).

Nearly went for the QP however decided against it on size. These 4200's look a great package.....which is the best one to go for on a budget up to £20K?

Many thanks

Never change a timing belt on the 4200 :)
Clutches vary. 30k might be a good average figure.

You get more car for your money on a QP, but it's a *very* different animal

They improved the 4200 over time, so buy the latest (and best condition) you can afford. Preferably find a 2005 onwards face-lift version.

However there are anomalies to this figure, it looks like on my car the clutch may have been changed at 20k and now again at 35k, the figures for the clutch wear werent right to "suppose" the car was on its original clutch, ensure you get an inspection and that you maintain a "just in case fund", ie, should your clutch go, its circa £1800, should you be unlucky enough that the flywheel, release bearing and spigot bearing need replacing then you are looking at closer to £2.7 (At a well respected independant)
