Hi all. Just purchased my 1st Maserati. It's a QPT V GTS, 2011, 18,000 miles. There's some really interesting stuff on here that I am working my way through to try and get as much knowledge as possible with regard to ownership of this vehicle. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I enjoyed one of those for nearly 3 years and 24k miles. Loved every minute. Drive it in Sport and on the paddles for maximum fun. If you drive it in the winter fit Michelins, choose a good specialist such as Emblem, Autoshield, Shiltech, AV etc and be prepared to wonder why you didn't buy one earlier! Lots of good experience and advice on here so may be worth trawling through the historic QPV posts. Enjoy!

Welcome and what a lovely car. Saw it disappeared off Autotrader. How did you find the dealer...?

Good riddance I say - keep your fancy yellow leaning tendencies away from us honest upstanding red caliper supporters....

Maybe this could be the next divisive debate once Brexit is sorted?

Oh no, I didn’t want to provoke a tribal response. There are so many more red caliper types. And what about the polished aluminium folks. There are almost none of them!

Oh, and as an attempt to stay on subject, I don’t think I’ve seen a white QPV and it looks very cool.

There's a Supercharged white on EBay at the minute I say tongue in cheek.

Thank you. I am sending it for a used car examination next week to ensure the car is OK.

Then do see to have some nice cars. Love the stitching in yours. Seen it for sale before. Congratulations and look forward to hearing how you get on with her.

I think mine are polished ali, with red Maserati script. My QP is Argentinian (Grrr) Blue, and I want red calipers, though everyone say no, you need yellow with that blue.

So I've left as is.

Had a puncture today, only my third ever, once on West Lancashire moors, pitch black, managed to change with 'feel' and a total flatty on my Alfa 166, RAC man changed it as age had crept up on me by then.

Jobs to bodge before I get back to UK end Oct...

  1. Rear pads....
  2. Rear N/S disc, will do both back home, not paying Irish prices....
  3. Front tyre (probs about 700 quid a corner in Ireland)

Service ok, check oil level, not done for a bit, fill washer fluid, parking sensor still to sort (seem to have light on but 90% of the time seems to work even with light on) and TPMS (2nd module) could have done with that today, testament to poise of car, I never noticed a flatty, only the massive thump on the M50 cat's eyes gave the game away. Probs knackered the tyre now though though I've reinflated it it seems ok so far....
