Good evening all. I have (today) sold my Ferrari 360 spider and bought a 2013 GranTurismo S (semi automatic). I loved my Ferrari but age and a dodgy back meant it was no longer an option. I thought it would be a sad day but thoroughly enjoyed my journey home with all the pops, bangs and noise in Sport mode plus I could keep it sophisticated and relax by turning that off! I live in Leeds (West Yorkshire) and already have a couple of questions which I will post in the technical forums.

Hi and Welcome... hope you get answers to your questions and enjoy being here...

P.s. it’s customary to include pictures of your new car so we can all go ooh and arr...

Welcome. You'll find a real eclectic mix of amazing people on here. Also a wealth of talent and knowledge.

You will never regret owning and driving a Maserati. An odd small regret on occasion but soon short lived. The good times are always very good. Very different brand and feel to a Ferrari I believe but can only comment from one side having never owned a Ferrari.

Funnily enough I have teetered with owning one but only feel it might just be a tick box excercise that I'm never that fond of doing for the sake of it. I don't think I'll ever own one.

I've fulfilled a lot of childhood dreams of owning a Maserati,.an Alfa, an XJ, soon to be Aston Martin and hopefully a Mini soon. They all feel so different but similar. The Ferrari doesn't seem so attractive to me in the same way.

Anyway....I've bumbled a bit again. You'll love the Maser......always an occasion still, slow or fast. Enjoy

Welcome along, I'm in Leeds as well. Happy to meet up at some point and compare foibles! There's a few of us in the vicinity so perhaps we can organise a bit of a mini meet.

Oooooh and aaaaah, as mentioned above ;)
(or aaarrr, if you're from the South West)
I have two severely ruptured discs and I find the Granturismo surprisingly comfortable.
If only I could find oil in my garden, I'd use it every day!
Clearly you are a gentleman of taste and intelligence. Your choice of car proves the first observation and joining this forum proves the second ;)

Lovely, and worthy and much oohing, aaahhing and cooing. I think that’s Grigio Granito, but I could be wrong. It could be something else.

I’d argue that the true mark of intelligence is not just popping up here but sticking around, full in the knowledge that sticking round is a foolish thing to do. SM is home to the wisest fools around. Almost any question will get answered, but the route to enlightenment can sometimes take unexpected turns.

PS, welcome, and well done.

My reason for moving from the Ferrari to the GranTurismo was back problems. I have had 3 failed surgeries and now have a Spinal Cord Stimulation implant. Just getting in and out of the Ferrari was difficult and it was never comfy (great fun though!). The Maserati so far (only 3 days into ownership) make me smile with the noise and performance but is comfortable and relaxed when it needs to be.
