Hi Everyone,

Am a new owner and have had my 2011 GranTurismo 3 weeks now. I have read about all the niggles but they all fade away when you drive this car. Living and Driving around West London and out and about around Bucks & Berks at the weekend.

Hope to learn more about her and participate in the forums.

Have added the dealer pic of my actual car.

Was bought from HR Owen in St. Albans - from Vince who was a super guy to do business with. He really looked after me.

I had contacted a few other Maserati dealers but they all seemed pre-occupied with selling me a new car or a Ferrari. My main aim was to get into a Ferrari type car and get to grips with driving a fast car before moving up.

I think the Maserati Granturismo is a great car to start with and having four seats makes it really social to drive around in.. The Ferrari engine and Pininfarina styling all contribute to a great sounding yet understated ride. I love the fact it is not too flash too..

Regards

Forgot to mention - The other main reason for the Granturismo was that it's like having two cars. The "Better than Expected" in Auto Mode and the Noisy Prancing Horse - "drive by the seat of your pants" in Sports Mode..

Hi Nasman,

Warm welcome to the forum, you will find good information and common sense on here, everything Maserati and a few other Italians. Don't be worried about asking questions, that's how we all learn about our cars. Well done on your choice, very nice looking beasty.

Cheers

Hi NasMan,

Welcome to the forum (it's a fine place to be) and welcome to the GTS and Maseratii in general (likewise). These things are an absolute joy and yearn to be driven. The thing I hate most about owning one is that not every drive is a sweeping A-road, hard blasts of acceleration and small resonant villages. There is just too much traffic on the road!

Cheers,
Adam

PS - at this time of year get the battery on trickle charge regularly unless you give it regular >20 minute runs. The cold weather and all the electronics and pumps wil flatten it dead, especially if you have a tracker fitted.

Thanks Guys - and Adam for your advice regarding the battery. I have an insanely short commute - so the car drives for 5 mins each way.. I'll definitely need to consider the trickle charging. I do try and give it a blast each side of my commute, but I echo your view on finding the right roads to do so... Especially in gridlock London.
