Hi all, just purchased from Matt82 and survived an inaugural ~220 dark and wet miles home without issue.

Saw the car in the light briefly for the first time this morning when walking past to work! Look forward to getting to know it more next weekend!

I'm sure there will be questions in the future but will make use of the search function too as it looks like there's lots of information on the forum.

See you around!

Welcome along and that didn't take long to sell.
A lot of work has been done some of it very hard too.
Whereabouts are you located ?

Priced to sell and with some serious recent service history- I'm sure you'll enjoy it, although winter isnt the best time for these motors IMO.
You cant go wrong with a manual. The last few cars to come off the production line were "murdered out" at the factory...in case you get to thinking of a cosmetic update, your car would wear that "look" really well....!

Thanks All,

This is a bit of a 'leap before looking' situation which is unusual for me - I usually have much more of an understanding of a particular car before buying so I'm sure it'll be a bit of a baptism of fire but hopefully I'll not get too burnt!

First issue is a non-Maserati issue and just one of those things; I seem to have picked up a slow puncture on the drive home so am just about to look at the forum to check where the safe jacking points are or I'll revert to the manual! I'm looking forward to reading through the history and having a bit of a play with everything to understand what it all does with a bit of light and time at the weekend.

I'm based in south London, between Croydon and the M25 so the car will be used for trips away from London.

OK, next issue.

Matt86 had removed the boot actuator to grease and free it and I took it away with the car, not installed.

I assumed it would be a simple matter to reinstall but despite a bit of searching I don't see where the actuator actually lives in the boot mechanism or how it connects to the rest of it. Obviously I've taken the boot lid cover off and can see the mechanism but how do I install the actuator?

I've seen this thread:

Which shows the lock very clearly but not where the actuator lives. Is the actuator inside the lid and do I need to remove the lock and exterior trim to get into that?

Any pointers?

Inside the tailgate there will be a whole bunch of circular trim retaining lugs which you need to remove in order to access the actuator

I suggest investing in something similar to these if you don't already have them

Yes thanks, I have the trim removed.

I have access to the locking mechanism a la the previous thread I referred to, but what I'm unclear about is how/where to refit the actuator having never seen it in situ and I can't seem to find any example photographs online!

What does the actuator look like? Attached are the photos I took when I went in there to change the wiring loom last March - I doubt I photographed what you need but it's all I have at the moment.

Well you've got the bowden cable that attaches to it. You can see in the second photo where it snakes into the boot structure (if my memory is correct)

Should there be an insert where the end of the cable connects to the latch?

ah, ok, so when in situ it will be hidden in the body of the boot lid and I will have to pull the lock out to access, thank you.

Will give it a go in daylight.

Also I have been looking for a 4200 workshop manual without joy.

Found a link on a relatively recent thread but it was subject to authorisation which I've requested and haven't received.

If anyone has a workshop manual they're willing to share access to I'd be very grateful!

Sorry that's me. And I can't authorise them any more for reasons beyond me. I think I still have the manual but it's 39M. If you have drop box or whatever, more than happy to get it to you

Thanks catman, I'll send you a message direct tonight with a Dropbox or Drive link to upload to. Really appreciated.
