I can not post any pictures at the moment as the car is dirty, I will do in the future.
Just notices no locking wheel nuts, any recommendations for some?

I wouldn't bother with locking wheel nuts either. They are more hassle than they are worth. Especially when the keys snap!

I agree with rockits and tan. My car would never be left in a situation where somebody could steel the alloys so why bother. I find that most people with locking wheel nuts keep the kit in the car glovebox or boot incase they forget it for changing tyres/getting a flat etc., so if someone wanted to steel them then there is a good chance they will try to break into the car to find it.

Exactly this scenario happened a couple of weeks ago to Miss Eb when she went to get new tyres with some of the proceeds from her first pay check. Apparently she was the first person that the local Ford dealer recalls actually having the piece of paper with the key code on it to order a new one!

Nibby, I was following that clutch also, but then decided to leave it as my clutch is ok at the mo. Just bought a new indoor car cover from Tufan so I would be grounded for a month!!
A big if but if my if my clutch lasted another 40k miles at the rate of my current 2 thousand miles a year, in 20 years when I'm 76 that clutch might come in handy.lol

Ok I have done it, bought a Maserati 4200GT, so I will be lurking around this forum a bit more preparing myself for any future problem and looking for the solutions.

Its a 2003, black manual car, 42,000 miles well look after by the last owner who has it for 11 years. MOT history looked good and I got an independent garage inspection done. I've almost done more miles getting it home than it has done in the last year. 280 miles of sat in traffic jams around the Midlands, then staying to a steady 70mph on the M1, then a bit faster up the A1 to Durham. It did 22mpg if anyone is interested.

So here are my first questions.

  1. what spares should I be stocking up on?
  2. Can anyone recommend a good code reader /reset-er for it?
  3. Any good ideas to update the radio /CD, multi-CD and satnav system (I have read a few threads on it)
  4. Any driving advise, ie don't clutch in as you start it? Etc
Rob

Was this the one in Bourne End, Bucks?

I went to look at it before you bought it. It has a OE upgraded stereo already.

Admittedly, this has happened to me to, I had to have a garage remove them, was over 20 years ago
