Hi all - Ive been following this forum for a couple of years in order to learn as much as I could before diving in and buying my 08 Quattroporte with the ZF gearbox which was the one I wanted .Brought the car in April with 80k on the clock and due to lockdown etc hav nt been able to use it as much as I would like .
Car has quite good service history and seems an all round good example although 2 issues have popped up recently - the first being the air bag warning light which turned itself off for a few days but is now back on warning me not to proceed - as I m proceeding down the road - the other issue which I discovered yesterday is drivers side rear window motor is clicking and not closing the window all the way - I pushed it up by hand .
So bearing this in mind I ve been looking for someone in the West Midland to service it and sort out said issues - the only independent I ve been able to find as Migliore Cars in Bromsgrove so was wondering if anyone here has used them and would you recommend their service - Thanks

Big warm welcome to the forum and to Maserati ownership . I too bought my first Maserati this year having been advised by the good fellows on this forum. I too bought an 08 QP with ZF gearbox. - See the "Dented pride" thread.
Looking forward to seeing your photos.
But about Migliore. Well chosen...
I looked all over the country (all over Britain really, 3 countries) for mine, including the Midlands, and I had an expert pre-purchase inspection by Migliore cars. I had a wonderful experience with them and am delighted you have been able to entrust your car to them, because your experience should be as wonderful as mine. Let us know how you get on !
Best wishes.

Welcome DJS. I have a facelift 58 QP S with zf. Just one word of warning. Offering to compare gearboxes may attract the wrong type of attention from certain members on here! :D

I have used Migliore for my 4200. Have found them to be good. Vic knows his stuff. MarkMas of this forum uses them too from memory for his QP

He's right DJS. And I was dead set on Duoselect with its wonderful directness - no soggy torque converter between your engine and your wheels. Duoselect delivers fabulous exits from every round about you come across.
Somehow I ended up buying a ZF. Propper automatic with all its benefits but still with finger tip override at the paddles. Exits from roundabouts are pretty impressive too.

Just a thought DJS. You might want to get a price from Vic to do a post purchase inspection while its on his premises.
It's good to know what you are dealing with and plan in the major or most vital work.
How's your subframe?
How are your bushes?

Welcome to the forum, sounds like a lovely motor you have there. I bet on the wiring under the seat or the passenger side airbag disable switch on the side of the dash. Oh, and a new window regulator.

Oh no did someone mention sub frames and bushes - that is a worry I have to admit . It does feel a bit loose on bumpy uneven surfaces but in sport mode not so noticeable so dont know what to make of it . How much do you think I m looking at for a window regulator Zep ?and is there a generic alternative .
Thanks again for the feedback and welcome and pleased to hear good reports on Migliore Cars Monday will be interesting I shall let you know of their findings - wish me luck

Warm welcome to the chaos ;)
I must say, its nice to hear such positive reports about a garage, when mostly what I hear are horror stories.
Alan, the post purchase inspection is a great idea. That's what I've been doing with my mechanic since I bought the Granturismo. Looking several months ahead at least, I can set up some email alerts for engine oil, plugs and filters etc and if a component is on the way out, shop around for the best deals on discs and shocks etc. Parts are my biggest expense by a country mile, so savings here help my boat fund grow faster ;)
Speaking of which. Opie Oils are doing more frequent deals of late and have an offer on Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40, for anyone who uses it.

The QP / GT are a lot better in terms of suspension bush changes. Subframes probably worse, so keep em crossed.

A used right rear window reg is probably up to £160. It’s a cable operated effort so not the pain of a coupe.

I suppose a wooden wedge to hold the window up is a bit unMaserati although if I put a Maserati logo on it I could charge £50 for it - another great business idea of mine .
Don t worry Zeb everythings crossed regardless of the pain

Only if it was a piece of mahogany, and £50 is too cheap!

Yes, I've used Migliore. They are a bit scruffy and random (sorry Vic) but tenacious in tracing and fixing problems, and good value. Morrisons nearby has good bacon baps and good wifi while you wait.

Sounds like my sort of garage Mark - its those places with sofas and receptionists that scream - we re main dealers and we ll take you to the cleaners I try and avoid
