Hi everyone

Took the plunge and picked up a 2011 GTS MC-Shift. That was two weeks ago and for some reason haven't been very productive since, hence the delayed post. At this stage, just introducing myself - am new to Maserati and won't pretend that I know much at this point, so may well be leaning on your collective expertise for a while. Already impressed with how useful the forum is, thank you to all! I'm moving on from years of good fun in a 911 and looking forward to more with this lovely creature.

Welcome to the fold; loads of great folk on here and all sorts of activities in your neck of the woods.

Welcome, incorrigible. What a gorgeous car. You'll soon realise that it needs an x-pipe, some spacers and a subtle stripe. :)

It is manual, just with an electronic clutch. Move on with the times; they’re amazing cars and terrific value for money now.
Sorry..............Old school I'm afraid...............I know I will have to face up to it in the end. Like we are all going to have to accept electric cars. There's no getting away from it. But until then.............

We don’t need to accept electric cars; there’s millions of petrol cars out there.

Absolutely, but not new cars. Each to their own but in my opinion you’re missing out. I used to be a manual only chap until I realised how good F1 gearboxes can be.
I agree these have come on in leaps and bounds.

I have an original early noughties Vanquish and the paddle shift single clutch box I need that is a challenge and you do need to lift off between up shifts if you want to avoid lurching thumps into the next gear.

Contrast that to the latest version in the new Vantage and its night and day. The software is so much more sophisticated 15 years on, work lightning fast and smooth changes up and down the box.

That made me chuckle. First bit of tinkering is probably going to be the CarPlay unit via Paul but so far the audio system has had zero use so may not even do that. Touched by the warm welcome all, thank you.

That looks like a beauty, well done and welcome.

The MC is an awesome car - little tip that I found useful is on start up, turn ignition on and wait for lights to settle down on the dash then start, I found this avaoid what can otherwise be jerky manoeuvring, especially in reverse.

Then keep it in manual all the time and sport “very often” the Theatre and Drama that is unleashed will not disappoint neither will the noise ......

Welcome to the club. Lovely car!
That would have been my first choice of interior colour, but the fact mine has a 2 year old girl in it daily, meant the sensible option was black.

Welcome to the MC Shift club. Agree with much of the above but I also value the shorter final drive - not so good for mpg but that's not why you bought it. Best for theatre, engagement and noise and, contrary to popular myth, the clutch lasts well if not abused. Mine was 6% worn at 18k miles.
