Thanks. It's film, the lightest stuff that doesn't fail you on the MOT (tried and tested!).
Was going to do the rears as well, just to take the edge off the red lenses.

I'll post a pic when done.

Great stuff make sure you do, would love to see it. It's a shame, my car is the dark grey, if Iblacked out the lenses it would look too dark i think.
Your lucky you have a beautiful colour and it stands out.

great work, by the way, looks OEM.

those prices are insane.

That's what I was thinking thank you for confirming what I thought. was not sure if that's just what maserati parts cost, as it's my first maserati.

Few!

Anyone got cheaper alternatives for carbon?

Hi All, me again.

I am picking up the car tomorrow and it's been ceramic coated thanks all for the advice.

Again, I have another question. I know the infotainment is a talking point for many, and I know the hard-core swap it out for what I think can be sometimes a ugly option. However, after saying all that, I have experience in custom interiors designing and creating bespoke solutions before. I think I have decided on a new solution, that looks in my opinion factory but also removes the ugly CD player.

I am just stuck on one thing.

Does anyone know what mainstream car brand this stereo is shared in, I believe it's a part from another brand.

Why and I asking?

Well if it's a know mainstream brand, then there's adaptors for stealing controls. These aftermarket adaptors can be customised to incorporate that same function for the GTS.

With out it what will happen?
Well nothing really the system will still work and yes I'll have enhanced functionality I.e. airplay or Google maps etc, but I'll loose the steering controls which I would live to keep.

Any advice or recommendations are welcome, please help.

We have a full retro fit car play solution that is very near to completion. It keeps the stock system the same and with an overlay touchscreen, gives you car play/Android auto and a reversing camera. All looks 100% stock and you just hold a button down to flip between the stock system and the CarPlay systems.

Price sold as a kit with full install instructions will be around the £500 mark and available in 8-12 weeks. Will also come with all the tools and connectors you need. Fits GT and QP

Ooh conaero that sounds really interesting. Sounds from your description very much like the Naviplus system from Australia which I was seriously considering getting. Would love to hear when you have more news if possible.

Similar but comes proven fit with all the tools and adapters to make it as simple as possible.

I have all the kit here for 2 test kits which I am fitting and writing up the detailed install instructions so its a home job and comes in about half the price.

All, I will be posting shortly.

The current state of play is that the camera is all installed and cables run. I have the digital units and all the wiring and am just waiting on the touchscreen overlays which are due in next week.

By the end of the month, Ill post up a video of it all working and start collecting orders. The kits will be then ready for shipment about 4 weeks later so we are looking at the end of March.

Basically, I am doing all the hard work on the installation making it work for our cars rather than just getting a box of parts.

I will also be supplying all the custom made brackets and T-tap connectors and the head unit release keys so its a simple DIY process.

As you can see I have been busy working it all out:

The result will be a seamless installation with a full how to guide and all the tools and parts you need to do it yourself in one day.

We've got SM Car covers coming in the summer too.

Indoor, black spandex, with SM logo made to the same specs as OEM for 3200, 4200, GS, Spyder, GT & QP circa £175

Ive decide that I don't like my job anymore and making SM goods is more rewarding :)

Amazing job. I notice that you installed the camera in middle of the EU flag on the number plate (cool idea). If we have a no-deal Brexit (and perhaps even if we have any other Brexit) then the rules for GB plates abroad are likely to change making the EU flag non-permissable for EU driving. Unbelievably bureaucratic but there you go!

Matt - I need to commission you to design a CarPlay upgrade for the Vantage system. MD price £3-4k. Conaero budget - 20% of that. :)

Can you get a front camera added with this set up?

There is cabling for it but I have not worked out how to put it on the head unit. The reverse works when you engage reverse and the camera comes straight up on the screen. For the front its possible, will just need to press a button, or more likely hit mode so it switches to AUX2 or something?

I probably wouldn't bother with the camera so if there was an option to just have the overlay and associated gubbings that would be great.
