After a bit of soul searching a couple of weeks ago, I realized that I ‘needed’ a GT for weekend excursions with my family. I couldn't find any other GT car offering decent rear seats and acceptable boot size paired up with impossibly good looks and an engine sound which is frankly unparalleled. Love the heritage of the manufacturer as well…

I started to look around for a car that looked like a classic GT without carbon fiber and so forth (personal taste of course) whilst browsing forums – for many hours – to read up and benefit from the collective wisdom on this forum and a couple of others. Deeply impressed by how helpful owners are in sharing and advising. Perhaps reflective of Maserati’s being the thinking man’s Ferrari (hey – I have nothing against Ferrari’s BTW)..

The fine folks at Maranello contacted me the other day to let me know about an exchange vehicle they had just received – went and saw it yesterday and bought it.. A 2016 with 16,000 miles in excellent condition. Blu Oceano with Bianco Pregiato leather paired up with Gloss Titanium MC Alloys with silver calipers.

Will pick up tomorrow after it has gone through more extensive valet, ceramic coatingand so forth – attaching a couple of pictures taken by the dealership in the interim (probably better than the ones I would take anyways).

I hope to be able to contribute to the forum in one way or the other, as much as my knowledge of this machine is insignificant compared to all of yours…

OOOPH, thats a lovely car. You will though, spend most of your weekends cleaning that leather to keep it beautiful, may I suggest this:

or the gallon possibly?

Thanks Conaero!

I will pick you up on your advice. Maranello will apply a sealant to the leather seats, doors, dash plus the carpets as part of their G-Technique valet - but, I realize that it will be something of an ongoing concern. I have white leather seats in another car and it certainly does require regular maintenance!

The sealant stuff will certainly help. That fluid dissolves and lifts dirt and denim dye.

That's a stunning looking car there. Very similar spec to mine, so much so I checked my garage to ensure that it was still there. Welcome to the forum.

Lovely.

As for the leather, just pretend to be a polo player and always wear white jeans. Problem solved.

Almost every time I use my Granturismo (Bianco leather) I wipe my seat down with dodo juice supernatural leather cleaner, works a treat and gets rid of blue dye and most importantly leaves a Matt finish.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I drove around quite a bit over the weekend and the car is amazing - the notes from the exhaust addictive (paired up with the ability of simply cruising when not in sports mode).. And my two children (11 and 14 respectively) very comfortable in the back, unlike other 2+2's I've driven..
