It won't as there will be a plentiful supply of charging points. All the nice hotels in Champagne, Burgundy etc will have them. Alternatively just keep a classic for these sort of runs. A friend of mine has a 1929 Bentley and seems to get around just fine on summer runs to a whole range of places.
Petrol??

How many years will it be until there are more charging points than petrol pumps? Not many. And by then, a charge will take about as long as it does to grab a coffee and a convenience break. The EV world is not to be scared of.
But like the rest of us, I’ll still want a V8/V12 in my life.

Not many.

Probably true!

Not so sure about this. The energy transfer rate of a petrol pump is very very high. Some simple physics shows some very high current flows to get the same kind of transfer to charge EV's (it's not just about the battery tech) which means very heavy cables and so on. OTW I agree that it's not to be feared but I suspect it's a transitional tech and won't ever be a direct replacement (as is) for IC.

It's not for me, either. Just don't need such a thing, electrified or not.

The whole electric / not electric debate is interesting. especially with GTs. Sometimes driving to get somewhere is wonderful because of the places you can stop, the different experiences along the way. That's the trip in itself. But if all you want to do is get to a destination then fly. It's by the far the easiest. But, if you do want to drive then make every leg of the trip enjoyable and do it in a car that drinks petrol and makes happy burbling noises in appreciation of being used.

PS - driving to the Balearics would be a bit dim unless you were going for a week and fancied a great trip with a couple of days either end to enjoy the journey. Ewan, let us know what the mate's rates prices would be to use your place as the epicentre of an SM adventure.

Read in this months EVO that the ICE version of the GT has formally been dropped so it’s confirmed as electric only. I believe it as it makes complete sense for the product lifecycle given where the world seems to be going. Sad days….

What an absolute crock of sh1t. They’ve just rattled off a peach of an ICE and it’ll be a one car hit wonder only.

Oh well keeping my GT for many years then and not a chance I’m buying a leccy milk trolley to stir the emotions.

Honestly leccy performance cars and everything about them is about as exciting as wiping my own ar$e

Try using stingers. It will make it interesting if not exciting!

It looks like they make the ICE assumption by spotting quad exit exhaust pipes on the mule ... I would expect to see the Nettuno used in there as it would have cost an awful lot to develop this engine, to only be offered in a very low volume car, but I can't see the V8 from the QP & Levante Trofeo being used - I think that Ferrari deal is well and truly over.

But let's hope we see, hear & smell a decent power unit rather than just the whizz of the electric motors

Looks a bit small - like the old model AM Vantage. Okay if purely a 2 seater maybe.

I was thinking that. The bonnet could be small due to the smaller engine, but the rear quarter does look like either a 2 seater or a 2+2. I hope not.
I suppose Maserati have many other 4 seat options right now, so maybe they have gone down that route.
