Have you tried the Brewdog IPA’s I left in your fridge?

I was a lager man but these changed my taste, bit lumpy but hit the spot.

When people who make exciting ICE cars start making electric cars then they’ll be exciting.

Let’s see what Maserati can do.

I agree….Unfortunately no matter what we think we can’t change what is coming. The Porsche Taycan is a great looking car and have not heard a bad word about how it drives…The new Audi equivalent looks great although rather like the Taycan and also has had good reviews and now Lotus is getting on on the game I am sure their cars will be fantastic. The only issue is the no noise but but the buyers if the future I don’t think will really care. It’s ourselves and our generations that lets face it is last of the breed.

That's a point I've discussed a few times lately Andy, I think the Porsche and Audi are in a different league in terms of quality to the model 3 but at a different price point. But they still hold no interest to drive because the sound is missing. My two sons (21 and 18) are both still more interested in ICE vehicles, but interestingly the manual thing means nothing to them. I do wonder if the cars we value, and therefore are worth more money, may loose their value due to these things. Don't suppose anyone knows so just enjoy what you like is my theory.

I know a guy who's had many Porsches over the years, and after a test drive he commented that the Taycan doors don't close with the usual solid thud. He was impressed with the performance, but thinks the weight trade-off (though necessary) doesn't do it any favours as regards appeal.

GranTurismo is key to Maserati so they have to get it right.

Personally, I feel this all electric GT is hogwash. It’s meant to test reaction.

Maserati have spent much time and resource developing this F1 technology Nutuno engine. When would they put it in only one model then sunset it with electric?

Read in this months EVO that the ICE version of the GT has formally been dropped so it’s confirmed as electric only. I believe it as it makes complete sense for the product lifecycle given where the world seems to be going. Sad days….

I’ll never say never, but can’t see me buying a >£100k EV. £100k still buys a lovely collection of 4-5 special cars that make noise.

Sad days indeed, if I replace my Stradale it won't be for another Granturismo now sadly

I don't get it, it's supposed to be a gt, to travel continents at the drop of a hat, the charging infrastructure can't provide that can it? Until that's sorted it will be inconvenient at best, range anxiety is a proper thing you know.
Just to add its not just Maserati, the whole industry is barking up the wrong tree imo.

Couldn’t agree more. This is why having an EV doesn’t make sense to me right now. A car for me means freedom, spontaneity, convenience, adventure, drama and fun. EVs might be fun to see if you can make your passenger sick when you demo launch control. After that it doesn’t tick any boxes for other than utility under very specific circumstances that don’t apply to me at the moment.

As much as I love my Strad, I’d not entertain the idea of travelling across a continent in it! But it’s great for a short blat. The idea of a GT being a continent crusher stems from the 60’s and is irrelevant in the 21st Century with air travel being far cheaper, quicker and more convenient.
My more modern definition of a GT is simply a stylish, sporty but not overly so, 2 door fixed-head coupe. Whether it’s powered by petrol or electricity isn’t an issue for me.
