New car

Welcome Dario and very interesting.
How have you found the process of getting it registered in Italy ?

Thank you so much
This is already a great amount of information, which is consistent because the car has new brake lines and a new steering rack. The mileage is also consistent, with 75,900 miles.

One assumes a RHD car in Italy, strange choice but congratulations everyone loves a Maserati
Yes, I have right-hand drive, it's not a big problem, my intention is to keep it for a few years and then bring it back to the UK since I have relatives in London it's not difficult for me.

After 7 years in France where we have our fair share of bureaucracy and I've bought I few cars here and in neighbouring Countries I'm now quite good at buying them on my own :)

Thanks, I had it imported by a friend, it wasn't difficult, but it took a long time due to Italian bureaucracy, in Italy they are much more expensive than in the UK, almost triple what I paid for it.
Same here red tape every where but once you understand the process and follow it it's not too bad. Like the rest of Europe car prices are higher here than the UK and since the B word the revenue have added more costs on UK cars. We have to pay 23% VAT on the UK purchase price plus, import duty and shipping both with Vat and then VRT (registration tax) which for anything under 30 years old is a percentage of an arbitrary market valuation by the revenue which often is nothing like true value, plus a CO2 & NOX charge. Over 30 years old VRT is fixed at 200 but the other charges still apply. It doesn't stop when it's imported as road tax on anything bigger than 2.0 will be 1500-2400 per annum

If it wasn't for all this charges I would have already been over to Rockits and picked up the S5 he has
