As long as you like it and enjoy it then that's all that matter......still don't like them myself style wise but life would be boring it we all liked the same thing......Have fun and enjoy pick up day.

That’s not entirely fair, not all 4x4 drivers can be so described. However, dragging 2+ tons of Italian tin wrapped around a wheezy 4 banger is largely for the school run effect. A powerful petrol at least gives it the performance it should have to avoid becoming a rolling road block. That. Btw, is merely my opinion and if you don’t agree with it, so what? Chill and enjoy your new vehicle, whatever engine it has.

Pretty sure that not many complain about my 4x4 blocking anyone, but it does have a decent V8 petrol with a supercharger bolted on so can move at a fair rate when I want it to.

The Levante does look better in the flesh than in photos though

Driven both the petrol and diesel and they actually drive really well. Nice place to be too if a luxury SUV is your thing.

I'd go with the S Petrol though as that is as quick as I like my daily.

Enjoy your new car Marti, I would love one myself but i'm not quite rich enough just yet!
It's just a shame that your holding up some people on this forum that drive at 176mph on the motorway apparently.
Just my opinion, no offence!

Welcome to the forum, so far I’ve not had the pleasure of ‘conversing’ with you. When you’ve been with us on road trips then please feel free to make snide comments about how fast some of us drive, until then it’s perhaps best to keep quiet and watch what goes on. Incidentally, I’m pretty sure I said it was 175 and given my family circumstances at the time, I would do it again. Best you leave this one there, as I might start to get a bit grumpy if you persist. No offence. Thanks.

Nice V8 Marti, seems as though you had a good handover experience to go with it.

I hope it’s got a decent donk. If it hasn’t, it’s just another motorway view blocker. As such, it should be scrapped and crushed with the driver still at the wheel. No offence.
Haha motorway view blocker brilliant... I think that is all this wave of "cross overs" is good for.

To be fair the vast majority of motorway blockers are Renault Captur, Honda CRV and other non premium brand underpowered heavy 4x4s that never see a grass verge nevermind a hill. Usually driven by the incompetent scared of driving hence the tank to protect then from the accident they've caused.

Thanks MLC, same point of view but more succinctly put. The number of times I’ve watched tanks, usually black or white, drive through car parks with spaces just because they are too big to park. Personally, I just don’t see the point in massive vehicles clogging up town centres or underpowered tanks blocking A roads. Still, it’s all about personal opinions and I, for one, can’t be doing with them.

Regrettably due to fashion c.80% of Mums drop their darlings off at my son's school in diesel SUVs. Engines are cold and they are chucking out maximum pollution so have to assume they place sitting up high more important than their childs health. Then they drive to the gym for some exercise. Shame they can't just walk their kids to school and keep fit that way.

Buck, you are absolutely correct; the majority of 4 bys are used as a fashion accessory and, as such, are bog spec with wheezy 4 bangers. The roads are clogged with them especially A+Bs and they are so big you can see f*ck all when you are stuck behind them. I tried to put all these points in my original post which seems to have caused offence to one or two of the Newbies. They are becoming the cholesterol of the highways, and if that causes offence to anyone, bollocxs to them.

Hi Benny D, apologies if you thought my post was in any way personal. It certainly wasn't and it wasn't in response to any 175mph post which I'm not aware of. 176mph is the supposed top speed of my Spyder which is pretty unachievable on any of our motorways so I thought it unlikely that any Levante would cause too much of a road block. Cheers.

No worries, apology accepted although one wasn’t really necessary, but thank you anyway. It’s something that still hurts, but I now appreciate you weren’t making reference to what I did during ‘that period’ as it appears you weren’t aware ‘that period’ existed. Tbh, I tried to hit 176 but could only get 175 indicated before I ran out of road but, even so, my son was mightily impressed with the old girl!
