Cheers Adam. Yes I seem to have accidentally acquired a collection within a collection. 5 cars that have had their front seats replaced with lightweight versions and 4 of which have had their rear seats removed as well - the MC-V is the odd one out in that respect.

There's a part of your subconscious handling this for you. A sort of background process that you're barely aware of. Try to focus on it, it'll hide.

Incidentally, Grigio Touring is a wonderful colour. I very nearly bought a GTS in that colour before I went for Grigio Alfieri, and it suited it extremely well.

Well done John. Great buy. I thought about it but much of may spare cash is currently in trading/making money mode. Hoping though that next year or two will allow cash to be a little more free and some bargains to be hoovered up.

Great to see a Strad in a rare colour. Funny how silver was the most popular colour on the planet a few years back but not so much now.

When I nearly purchased a Granturismo MC-Shift new back in 2013 (but instead went for an Aston Martin Vantage in Lightning Silver) it was going to be in Grigio Touring with carbon pack so I guess I got there in the end.

Incidentally, as we all know, Grigio means Grey - so it is romantically speaking Touring Grey (and even the V5 says the colour is 'Grey'). But as we also all know, it is silver :)

By a curious mix of serendipity and happenstance I am now the owner of this car. I effectively have a brand new 9 year old car :)
Not yet run-in. I will open up another thread when there is more to say but for now it is tucked away before going off to SportsItalia for a couple of bits and some subtle rustproofing.

I always thought I would add a Stradale at some point and have kept half an eye on the market and Richard's stock coming and going but my criteria had narrowed the pool somewhat:

2-Seater (no compromise on this)
Not White (no offence)
Not Black (no offence)
One Owner
Low Miles

I would have added FSH to this, but as discussed, at these miles it is moot as long as stored correctly. I have driven it 150 miles already and no issues, no tyre flat-spotting etc. I am a happy bunny. Was not planning the purchase so need to make room now.
I have never been so offended by a forum post in my life ;) lol

Congratulations and extremely happy for you. Goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway... gratuitous pictures etc required, maybe alongside your other Mazzer? :)

Congratulations John, is a stunning car, If funds had been available in abundance I would have jumped on this, look forward to seeing it one day, hopefully at Wilton if they ever do the wakeup's again.

Yes, I am generally a bit rubbish at that but will try as they make an interesting pair and won't necessarily be a pair for long. One for another thread perhaps.

Thanks, not sure which car I would take to Wilton but also found it was far too crowded for grumpy old me :) I hate queuing for my breakfast

That's just great news. Great to see one if a great colour rather than the norm. Look forward to hearing about your adventures with her.

How did I take so long to see this?! Great news Hashluck, so glad it ended up with a Forum member. You'll have a complete blast. 3 1/2 years with mine now, and had a complete hoot yesterday.
  • xpipe - do it! I thought far too long about it, Outrun convinced me, and must be done. Reversible, cheap. Why not?!
  • maybe some clear film up front? they do receive paint chips there a little too easily. I'd do it if mine were new
  • rustproofing - huge yes. Some of that clear stuff. They rust really easily
  • washing and use - recently I've noticed a some owners of rare stuff don't use water. A compressor to blow away dust, then a detailing spray and many clean microfibres.
Main thing is to enjoy it on sunny days! Congrats again.

Nope. You won't convince me. I don't mod my cars, just find life easier that way. Plus, I think it sounds epic as it is!

My MC-Victory has a complete front-end and sills PPF and it does work well, but lately I have been using a Feynlab self-healing coating, sort of a halfway house between ceramic coating and PPF. I will see what my detailer has to say.

Yes, all my cars get this even the nearly new ones. Going to get SportsItalia to do it as they know the most vulnerable points.

As above, I have a self-healing coating which banishes swirls and I get through detailing spray and microfibres in bulk. I like to think I pioneered this method. The Detailing Police used to despair at me but even on my dailies they could find no issues after 2 years of this method (provided you start with a properly protected car).

I'd be interested to hear what rustproofing product you use. The body itself seems fine, the rust seems to start on the silliest things like sway bars and subframes...

My cars have a mix of Krown (Canadian), ACF-50 and good old Waxoyl depending on where and what is being protected. Different flow properties and ease of application come into play. Mainly it comes down to whoever I get to do it for me as it is a messy hateful job :)
