Oh, it works! It's an anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, anti-viral coating that works on contact and continues to do so for years.

A virus such as Covid-19 could typically live for 5 days or so on a surface such as a steel or aluminium door handle. But on a handle treated with our coating, the virus would be attacked instantly and the kill rate is 99.9% within an hour. So as an example, when you leave your office, factory, bar, etc at the end of the day, on your return the following morning all treated surfaces will have self-cleaned. And this is a process that is constant, happening all day, all night, 24-7. As an example, a well-known Japanese car manufacturer has just used it in one of their factories in the USA.

The potential is simply enormous.
Sounds like we should all just daub ourselves in this stuff and problem gone!!

I decided to make an inquiry on this and unsurprisingly it sold at the weekend. I was quite relieved :)

Sorry about that mate! Funny that, I inquired about a Jag too last week, and luckily, it had sold too! Less problems!

It’s copper based (obviously), permanent, is anti-microbial, anti-bacterial and anti-viral, killing the bugs on contact.
Will be needing to recruit a new sales team to progress this project.
Ewan, Chile (where I live) is a huge copper producer. We have used the material for years for the same use: from airport counters to socks (yes). Good luck with the venture, sure there will be tough competition.

In the last we sourced our copper from the mines in Chile. But more recently we gave swapped to using only recycled material. It’s the responsible and right thing to do. (Though not such good news for your local copper miners, admittedly.)

By a curious mix of serendipity and happenstance I am now the owner of this car. I effectively have a brand new 9 year old car :)
Not yet run-in. I will open up another thread when there is more to say but for now it is tucked away before going off to SportsItalia for a couple of bits and some subtle rustproofing.

I always thought I would add a Stradale at some point and have kept half an eye on the market and Richard's stock coming and going but my criteria had narrowed the pool somewhat:

2-Seater (no compromise on this)
Not White (no offence)
Not Black (no offence)
One Owner
Low Miles

I would have added FSH to this, but as discussed, at these miles it is moot as long as stored correctly. I have driven it 150 miles already and no issues, no tyre flat-spotting etc. I am a happy bunny. Was not planning the purchase so need to make room now.

Congrats!!

I’m intrigued as it was sold when you enquired...unless there’s was a turn of events or of course you were the purchaser??

I think it’s a cracking buy in any case so bet you are very pleased to have ticked the boxes!

......

How come it was basically never used for all this time?

How many daffodil bulbs can you get in the boot?

Thanks. Long story short - the same dealer had just got in a V12 Vantage with lightweight seats and some Q Spec and unique colour scheme which looked quite interesting. I said I would come and view as long as the Maserati was still there (though sold) as I wanted to see it as a useful reference. Well, I didn't buy the Vantage as it was clear to me that had I gone to view both cars when they were both for sale then I would have done a deal on the Maserati as it did indeed tick all the boxes. The dealer said that the new owner was planning to put a few thousand miles over 6-9 months in the Stradale and then sell it as he was looking for a Ferrari (I forget which model) that he hoped would come up by then. I asked that he let the new owner know I would be interested at that time. Well actually the Ferrari came up sooner that expected and true to their word the dealer contacted me and we got the deal done (directly with the owner). All very professional and gentlemanly with no money-grabbing or flipping. The owner had taxed the car for a year so I believe his original intentions were as said and he loved the Strad but things happen and there I was. A couple of other things happened at the same time with me which meant I could move quite quickly as well which obviously suited everyone. Happenstance and serendipity.

The first owner is part of a family owned Scottish biscuit factory/business and I believe has quite a collection which he enjoys sparingly. This one was very sparingly for whatever reason but I can confirm was stored completely correctly.

I think you could get quite a few bulbs in the boot but that is not its strongest point :)

Even more behind the seats I suppose!

Congrats John, I told you once you get bitten or prodded by the trident there is no going back! Happy for you and want to see it soon please.

Thanks Phil and of course. Once I have it at the unit in Newbury I will let you know. I have to make some room first. Having two Maseratis also seems a bit of a luxury/borderline insane :)

Good onya, John. A fine addition to the Hashluck Collection. Well done!

Cheers Adam. Yes I seem to have accidentally acquired a collection within a collection. 5 cars that have had their front seats replaced with lightweight versions and 4 of which have had their rear seats removed as well - the MC-V is the odd one out in that respect.
