Negative Camber

Hi all, the front tyres on the 32 are now fubared on the inside shoulder, quite badly actually, maybe just the first 20mm across, the rest looks virtually untouched after around 6000 miles, in fact if I wasn't looking for something else I wouldn't have noticed. I did have it checked last year and it was given the ok. I measured the camber today and it's at -1.1° on both sides. I'm guessing the max is 0 to -0.5°? Could this cause such a massive effect on tyre wear? . I plan to shim it out before new tyres and tracking.

So I'm ok with 1° of neg camber? That will make things a bit easier.

I'll pass on the camber question, if I may. Was simply commenting that the GT particularly suffers from inner edge wear due to the factory set toe out....

It’s a confluence of lots of things. Too much camber could cause it. Too much caster (this increases camber when the wheels are not straight ahead) or too much toe out will cause scrub.

Some pics, I really don't want to put new tyres on when it's like this.

It’s unusual that the drivers side is so much worse than the passenger.

You are going to need a full alignment by the looks of it.

I would also agree toe out is likely the culprit, but yes get a full alignment done. Caster and camber is a shim job and can take a lot of time and money to get right, but should only need done once, except when you change out suspension arms etc. which means it gets done a lot :)
