My working day

Just thought I would share my day in work with you...It was a bit of a pig to be honest...

Midday had a call from the Police....One of my drivers had been ran over......one of the worse calls you can have as a Transport Manager...1. Because a colleague has been hurt and 2. you usually get the Police and Vosa crawling all over you to make sure you are legal and above board...but obviously my main concern was for my driver.

It turns out that the driver had left store and parked up about 6 miles from the store. He was walking down the road to a food outlet when a van hit him. He had severe head injuries and the Police said they were taking it seriously. The van driver was taken to the Police station and my driver was taken to hospital......The next 4 hours were pretty worrying but eventualy I found out our driver would be OK....Great news......

But the oddest thing about all this is that the van that hit him was one of our own home delivery wagons from the store....What are the chances of that???????

Yep have to agree Andy , when i was wearing your T shirt , a couple of times , we had lost loads , generally drivers failure to strap down correctly , but resulted in them crawling all over the office infrastructure/records and operational training, Transport Managers nightmare, only once did we have a slight injury to a buider acting as banksman for a hi-ab off load , Is it you, who gets to haul them over the coals i hated that bit , but you have to do it and mean it yuk Glad everyones ok now

regards loz
