I also run a cheap banger over here in Ireland, a lovely E46 BMW 325i had a local guy look at a brake warning light today and he was in complete shock that I paid less tha £1k for it, he offered €3k to take it off my hands even with it still being on a UK plate.

Andy you sold it too cheap

There isn’t one currently, that’s how keen I am to sell it!

It was on PH a while ago for 11k (to answer outrun’s question too), but like any large engined Italian car you do sometimes have to wait for a buyer looking for exactly what you are selling to come along. Or just sell it too cheap!
It’s not going anywhere for less than £10k though, so maybe I’ll have to just keep it a bit longer.....
Understood...it looks like a tidy example, and I love the colour. If you get serious about selling, pm me a link...

Bloody ****....How much...Surely half each ;-) ..... You going sell. Saying that looking at E30's going for 40k ad with the Lowish miles on OURS Andy maybe worth holding on. ...Ah well story of my car buying and selling life Andy. What was wrong with that light Andy. Never ever looked at it as it didn't effect the car. Take it she us still going well.

Very similar minds and cars ;) I've got an XJL SuperSport, a 4200 (well 2 atm technically!) and a Chimaera. I'd rather have the Tuscan though ;)

Brilliant! I love a Chim: that V8 sounds epic. Closest than you think, too - I looked at the XJR as I do love an oversized super-saloon but, sadly for gender based stereotypes, it proved too big for my wife!

I’m not sure how you can stomach the risk of running 2x4200s and a TVR! I’m impressed.

Indeed.....nothing beats the good old RV8 in a TVR IMHO. I'm just looking to change it to another TVR maybe a step up. The later T Cars are a.vig old jump price wise and I lose that old RV8. Current thinking is a Chimaera 500 maybe a 400 Turbo or 400 Supercharged. I love the Tuscans though.

Yes, the XJ is pretty big especially the XJL! Amazing VFM though and the fastest car I have. A kind of do it al car and so cheap now really....silly cheap.

I've got 8 at the moment but the 2nd 4200 is just going up for sale so will go soon. Wobbling with keeping the Alfa GT V6 or not at the moment as well.

My wife doesn't drive any of my cars so is not so fussed what I do with mine. I keep here in a nice car she likes so the equilibrium is maintained

Very special, thanks for sharing. In many respects, we are 'custodians' of these cars. Always admired the Vanquish a good friend has an S.
What Maserati do you have?
(Ps. I'm an ex Aston owner... for now.)
My Vanquish was the AML press car for the SDP variant (only 94 constructed) and was then retained by the factory at Newport Pagnell to try some new developments, some of which found their way into the S and others into the DB9 (like the pop up satnav). As such it is a totally unique car and hence as you say I'm just its current custodian of this automotive time capsule.

Maser is a GranCab. Wanted a convertible that was easy to drive between my homes in the UK and France, hence wanted an auto as opposed to MC shift. Automated manual box in the Vanquish is not its best feature and the DB4 requires double declutching for smooth changes, so an easy to drive but fun car was wanted. Helps that it looks gorgeous and sounds great also helps!

My daily driver is a 2016 Jaguar XJ 3.0 tdvi
Amazing car, always feel like “you have arrived” it’s my 6th or 7th XJ - I just love them. 0-60 is about 6sec and over 40mpg even driven hard.

I also have
1965 Ford Mustang Coupe with 5ltr V8 and quad Weber carbs
1965 Fiat 500D cute little thing but has been no end of trouble so won’t be around for much longer, will be sorted first though.

Latest daily driver is the 308 GTi. Inspired to buy one by my old 306 Gti-6 which was one of my all time favourite cars. Much better than our MK7 Golf Gti in the ways that matter to me (handling, performance and fun factor) and well equipped too. The car comes with 270bhp, massive 380mm front discs and only weighs around 1200kg so its a hoot to drive.

Not having a Maserati since leaving New Zealand to be in France we currently have a Jaguar XF 3.0 Diesel an all around Great Car.
Local run around jack of all trades is our 29 year old Renault 4 GTL loved by all.
For FUN driving the 05 Boxster 3.2 S takes some beating.
One of the best driving cars I have had and I have had many.

My 'newest' car is the 3200 GT. Oldest is the 1923 Vauxhall 23-60.

There's a few more in between, too...

Edit: And before anyone asks - no, I didn't buy the Vauxhall new! :)

I read a review on one of these the other day. 150kg lighter than a golf and almost 300kg less than a hot Civic. That’s like removing the entire weight of a family. Nice to see an alternative choice.

Yep I was surprised too when I started looking in to them a bit more. You can really feel the weight difference behind the wheel, its like going back to driving a late 80's or early 90's hot hatch except fitted with mod cons.

For a 1.6l engine it pulls more strongly than it has any right to and fuel economy is excellent due to the smaller capacity and lightness. It has a better power to weight ratio than the Golf R! Its a shame so many seem to overlook them and just buy German cars - we had a run of them and found them all a bit staid. Much like my decision in buying the GS there are better cars on paper for the money, but most lack the personality.
