I am only selling because I have been advised to drive a car with the highest possible seating position to protect my lumbar spine from more damage after two operations in the last three years. So I will not be able to use it for the long European road trips I had intended.

So sadly a part-ex won’t work for me Dave.

I would love this car to go to somebody on here who would use it but continue to keep it in its current wonderful condition. I would be delighted to show it to any of you that are interested.

I know the car well and have driven it on a number of occasions. It is as new throughout, inside, outside and underneath. It is properly cherished by Robert and drives impeccably well. I would think finding another one like that a very tough task indeed.
Absolutely agree. This is one beautiful car, lovingly cared for and looks stunning. I would have it tomorrow to replace my 15-year-old E Class. But doing 10,000 miles a year in a QP will cripple me in fuel costs compared to the avg 40+ mpg in the E220

41mpg 10000 miles 1.26 ppl = £1397.09
25 mpg 10000 miles 112ppl = £2036.65
What's the difference , 3 packets of shop sandwiches a week , 16 cigarettes, 2 takeaway meals

Get it bought man :D

25mpg......never saw that in any V8 I had including the QP. What's your name Miss Daisy?! I generally have averaged 18-21mpg out of most of the V8's I've had. I normally put Super Unleaded in them as well so the difference to Diesel is less. Regardless buy it ;)

My 5.0 Mustang does 22 round the houses , 30 on the motorway driven sensibly , it does 8 as well mind, I'd have thought a QP driver at 60-70 on the motorway would do around 25

In my experience diesels aren't very economical in urban driving , tesco 99 is about 5ppl more

Bottom like is over 10000 miles the difference is going to be £20 a week and let's face it , £20 doesn't buy you anything that will put a smile on your face like owning that QP would

BTW....you don't need to convince me the benefits of a nice V8 over an economical 4 pot diesel! I was converted many moons ago.

Just trying to plot my next automotive victim

That is crazy arithmentic. My GS at best has done 21mpg on a long run sticking to the speed limits or less. On short 10-20 mile runs it averages around 12-14mpg. The QP for 10,000 miles of mixed driving I do in the E220 will be lucky to see 15mpg overall. To fill the E220 it takes around £65-£70 but it goes 480 - 520 miles on a tank. The GS to fill is around a £100 and it does 300 miles on a full tank before hitting reserve.

I'm not interested in what the difference equates to in terms of sandwiches or cigarettes (I don't smoke anyway). I cannot see me using a QP 4.7 as a daily driver going to Tesco, parking in town, and racking up 10k miles per annum with people dinging the doors, scraping the bumpers etc. This example is just too good to use like that (in my opinion).

Ask yourself one question Pete....Apart from the way the GT looks are you getting anything more over RWC13's stunning QP.......To get the equivalent miles on a used GTS you must be looking at another 15k.

Help me out here, Dean, oh King of car deals. How am I going to get out of my 60k 4.2 2009 QP into a 17k 4.7 2009 QP without ending up £10k poorer or worse still owning TWO QPs???

Mmmm. The toughest part is selling yours. It could be long and painful. Sell it first and be a nice unencumbered cash buyer is always the way forward. The 10k bit wouldn't be an issue but getting to £7.5k or less would be much more challenging ;)

If I was bored, retired or really really desperate for cash I could help but am currently not 2 possibly nor 3 of those things :D

If you really want the car s0d the money and buy it then worry about the fallout afterwards. Unfortunately I am too poor for these kind of deals so have to work as hard as I can to make what little money I have work as hard as possible.

Dean, you appear to have rather hijacked my sale thread to tell everybody why it might be hard to sell my car at the moment and to suggest alternatives. Not sure why you think that’s helpful?
