Well Andy I have sold one of my previous cars(Toyota Camry!) to someone in Ireland.
Very good folks to deal with.
And I am looking at SUVs including Range Rovers. Although a Supercharged one for daily use will be overkill.

But I am not going to offer mine at bargain banger prices knowing fully well how good it is and how it would do well to be passed on to a Maserati enthusiast.

I'm advertising my car too (very similar to your) as i'm in the process of moving houses and thought all spare liquidity would be useful to have. But I completely agree with you. In the end if you need to "force" a sale it is something to regret later when the dust settles.

Your car is identical to mine!
It's the best colour on a QP.

The sad part is most interested parties tend to be car dealers who then price up the car and people go and buy from them reading autotrader reviews how good these traders are selling Toyota Yaris and VW Golf. These dealers make a profit and pass on a car they have had no input in maintaining, have no knowledge of its persisting issues or how well or badly the previous owner kept it. I don't begrudge them at all though.
I really wish the interested buyers were more open to communicate, test drive and purchase directly from an enthusiastic owner. And both parties would gain.

Our forum provides a fantastic gateway for all to research the cars, meet their owners and assess the history before buying.
I believe it is better way of buying in to Maserati of this age and budget. All subject to a good inspection of course.

Good luck with the sale and the house move.

I agree with you. I bought my car privately exactly for the reasons you mentioned. I would rather speak with someone who actually used the car for years and knows it inside out. He is more likely to be able to answer any questions i have and in the end make up my mind whether is honest or not.
At that end of the market is unlikely anyone will provide comprehensive warranty anyway so why pay a premium for less info. Buy private and if needed more comfort get a specialist to do a prepurchase check.

VRT can be expensive in Ireland, the RR would be €8200 if it wasn't a personal import. I would guess a QP would be something similar.

Monthly bump!
I have now ordered one of these, not the same one but similar in spec and colour for a long term family pleaser.

https://www.blackburnsuk.co.uk/used-nissan-elgrand-darlington-county-durham-2035991

I would request anyone in market for a QP DS to please contact me and check MY04MAS out. As a package there is no other DS out there with such spec.
It just needs a new enthusiastic owner to cherish the experience. Have a test drive. I am sure you will be impressed and tempted.

Nudge Nudge :)
My car / van Nissan Elgrand arrived today.

It is quite BIG although still about half a meter shorter than the QP! It has a quite high seating position and felt like I was on top of a doube decker bus when I jumped in to it directly after driving the QP. Has lots of toys and kids love the revolving seats. And a 3.5 V6 240 HP engine ( Nissan 350Z one) to move it to 60 in about 7 odd seconds. Does feel fast when pushed but I think thats due to a lot of v6 murmur and the sheer size of it.Also it does have a drink problem pretty much like the QP.

Anyhow. The QP is still for sale but being cared for and driven regularly. I had a week long family break in it last week and it made it all the more special. You get kids and adults alike coming over to chat mostly because they heard it coming long before they saw it.

I would be happy to look at reasonable offers but do urge anyone interested to come over and have a look see.

Yes Wattie. Very much looking forward to this.
And that's what's forced my hand to get the QP out for a proper large family carrier.
The atom productions delayed by about 4 months with first customer care due this month. The waiting list is three years plus now!

3 years! Geez that’s a long slog.
Still, it’s a unique motoring experience. Totally raw.
You’ll be delighted when you get it.

The problem with modifications is you never get the money back , the car looks fantastic and the service history adds something but the bottom line is it's a high(in Maserati terms) mileage 15 year old car that needs a 3k clutch and no warranty which is how any potential buyer will look at it.

This is what you're competing with, 31,000 miles 3 years newer , auto gearbox and sold by a franchised lexus dealer with warranty £14,700

Sorry to say it but without a new clutch I doubt you'll get an offer at all , certainly not one you'd consider

I just found a great car on Auto Trader. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201904207168667?atmobcid=soc3 Download the app to find your perfect car. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...onsumersearch&referrer=utm_source=App%20Share

That s a nice car indeed, although an being auto its a different spec altogether.
I believe I have priced the car reasonably. Its well cared for, with full documented history and paperwork for all work carried out.
The new clutch is about £ 1200 - £ 1500. When it fails I will take it to AV Engineering to get it done.
Any interested buyer must look at the done modifications to this car as not nice to have but must have, but that can only be emphasised if a viewing takes place.
The exhaust system is a bespoke one done specifically for this model and is not like a big 5" Halfords pipe fitted to Subaru and Fort STs. I dare say what it has done is made this QP sound like a 360 CS compared to a normal 360.
The FD DBW addresses the Achilles heel of the Duo-Select QP, the much lamented gear change itself. It is an absolute thrill to drive and I have never felt the gear change slow in any way.
I will keep the QP and cherish it till it sells. The market is indeed not favourable. But when one buys in to Maserati, they should not buy the cheapest they can get. Due research is necessary and viewing a must as well. I am sure a few here would agree that buying an older QP, 3200, 4200 would rather be done from a caring, enthusiast owner rather than the nearest car dealer whose input about the car may not be completely accurate.

This is definitely the place to find a buyer , an enthusiast will relish the mods you've done and recognise the work voicey will have put into it, when I had electrical glitches with my 4200 he was very helpful with things to look for , a really nice guy who obviously knows what he's doing

Agreed it is on the high end ,mileage wise but it is an obviously well looked after case that has wanted for nothing. Personally I would rather buy a higher mileage car with known history and consistent attention to detail over a lower mileage less obvious background. The clutch is something you must factor in, it will last 5, 10 15k no one knows but every mile pushes that bill out further.

As I said before I would if timing had been different
