Very sub 5K so that may be attractive in a different way. Thanks, Mattp

I'm amazed how cheap a 2011 9-5 Saab is , put a dateless plate on and that looks like a 3 year old car to me , the design doesn't scream 8 years old

Sold by cherry orchard chariots , the £7k 911 , not sure if that means it'll need a horse to get it moving

In the Maserati thread on Pistonheads/Gassing Station someone had the cheek to say the Maserati Granturismo had a dodgy image and the would-be-buyer would be better off buying a 996 or AMG CL600, ffs it don't get anymore naff than old 996 or CL600 barge.

Reminds me of my V10 M5 touring. 60l fuel tank, I emptied it in under 80 miles once! Why they put such a small tank on a sporty estate car is anyone’s guess.

Saw this yesterday
Not sure on the engine size or mpg,

Incidentally it’s a Rolls RoyceView attachment 52435

Catman is asking on the wrong forum or a budget car , that may just be out of reach

The S class is at drive it until it breaks then throw it away money

I had an Audi A8 which I absolutely loved but the petrol bill was horrific , the diesels seem to be coming down in price, VW Phaeton , bottom line no 10 year old £60k car will be cheap to run but if you get one cheap enough to throw away when it breaks you could do OK

I've always had a thing for the big Citroens , The C6 will be a nice drive

Totally agree Darren that's why I bought the XF here in France and was seriously considering a French motor now living here.
They share the same V6 diesels and some have done massive mileages.
I'm getting a 407 Coupé as a run around.

Someone please tell me they are ruinously expensive to service? Cos they appear to be pocket money cheap to buy.....

If the suspension sinks (common ish) then you’re looking at a 3k bill.

I looked at them and then decided against.
Newer shape are much better. Hence they hold their money better.

Old wives tales. Used to be 5k to get fixed so 1k per corner each strut plus 1k for main compressor. Now lots of places can refurb the struts for about 250 each and compressor can be refurbed. Later Airmatic stuff isn't ruinous either.

I'd look and am looking closely at S classes. Although I'd be looking at a 5th gen W221 rather than W220.

If you want reliable the experience I've had with BMW and Mercedes have been very positive C where as my French and some Italian cars have been a pain in the ****. As a daily drive you struggle to beat the Germans. Sure others will give different experiences but can only speak for our experiences. My wife has a 2001 BMW 325i, 86k on the clock, just passed an MOT with no advisories. 17 year old car with no advisories ...... yes it has rust on the back arches coming, interior is scrappy but it always starts, never has it let her down in 5 years. The only issue I have ever had with any German car was a clutch going in my old M5 and we have had a few German daily drives......Actually Liz's 325 is yours for £900 ;)

Not good is it, Andy?
Definitely leaning towards a Merc or a Jag.

Not getting any time to actually look at anything though ! Not that it matters, the GT is in Oban anyway :D

You're a top bloke. I sincerely hope it makes their event that bit more special.

Thanks, Dave. I do confess to feeling a wee bit emotional as Will drove away (he very quickly drove back as he'd left his driving licence and wallet behind!) Sounded lovely though :)

Messages so far indicate that it's all going well.

Haha. Good on you, I flap when mine is out of view. Never mind lending to someone else. But one thing is for sure, they will never forget this weekend and you've made it extra special for them.
