I'm facing this at the moment. I was tempted to take it to my usual place, but its a bit back street. Not sure I'd get the car in there, also concerned they might underestimate the power and drive it into a wall !!

Trying to find somewhere else in North London, used to "special" cars so won't get overly excited.

I remember when you could take your car in for an MOT and you could watch them doing it. Booked in for 10:15, done at 10: 15. One garage I used to go to had a waiting area where you watched through a large window, while having a drink.

Still know some like that. Normally I just give them to Felice for the service and he does it with his tame tester.

Can still do exactly that with my local MOT station. Have a large viewing window in front of the test area and they let me come and look over the underside whilst it’s on the ramp. Having a good relationship with your tester is a godsend!

Mine always shows me around the underside, points stuff out and gives advice. Tested all the family cars now for 15 years or so. As above, having a good relationship is a real bonus.

Mine's due 15th Mar - so going in tmrw prior to my return to The Grand Duchy.

Trip (essential) to Southport for another 27" Apple Thunderbolt Display, bargain - £150!

Bloody ****!

It does have some superficial damage to perspex screen cover and maybe the aluminium shell (still works perfectly) but doesn't matter as I have one good one and one broken one - so I will hopefully end up with two proper ones...

MOT today, plus a service at my local place, surprised to note I've only done 2,000 miles last year. Also surprised when I turned up to collect he'd forgotten to do the actual MOT test! So he did the quickest ever MOT test, pass, no advisories. Shocked too at how automated the test is nowadays, mostly watching for green on the computer screen while doing stuff.

Result!
