You should be able to remove the NIT and check there without stripping the dash, just some radio keys and some swearing.

Yes swearing indeed.

Simple to extract but a right pain to get back in.

The problem is getting the wiring loom behind the NIT out of the way of the bracket at the back of the unit that it sits in.

The best way is to pull off the lower triangular trim below the centre consul on the drivers side, loop a long cable tie round the radio loom and leave the tail hanging out the bottom so you can manipulate it.

Done it more than 20 times installing CarPlay kits and always do this.

it takes no more than 10 mins to do and will make your life so much easier plus you can leave the cable tie in place so next time it’s even easier.

The SM Carplay kits installed are circa £850.

£950 if you don’t have the Aux and USB input in the glovebox.

As for these Chinese digital climate units, thanks but no thanks.

What's the cost of the unit buddy and does it include a new surround or fit into current one.
