Yeah. That’s the wrinkle. Would they reveal two new cars at the same show? If not then that pushes the Alfieri back a year.

Service done, price came in a little less than I was quoted as usual. There was a sting in the tale though, as I was kind of expecting I need new brake disks front and rear. Somehow I've managed to wear them down. Can't think how?

All booked in for after we get back from the IoM so will get the last out of the brakes whilst I'm there. Should be all set for the next couple of years then, hopefully in time for the Alfieri to make an appearance as a possible replacement.

Are the brakes silly money?

And is there a match with another brand like there used to be wirh Ferrari at half the price for the coupe.

RR just clocked up 75k and I was only thinking winter tyres the other day but they are pricey just over a grand for 4 fitted

There brakes are £2500 fitted. Thats disks and pads front and rear.

Staggering! At least to me...
I'm hoping to avoid these costs for as long as possible, by driving gently and keeping the mileage down- less than 10,000 in over three years, and yes I even use the ICE mode!
My issue is being obsessively fussy about the condition of the car. For example on another thread I was asking about the metal blade covers for the fob. I picked up a few tiny marks on mine. My dealer sourced replacements for me, at a ridiculous price of £86.00!!
Now I found I tiny scratch on the top of the emergency key part of the cover ...
Be careful of OCD it creeps up !!!

I bought the car to drive and with full knowledge of what the costs would be. Brakes, tyres, and petrol are necessary costs. It’s not cheap but I couldn’t put a price on the fun I’ve had driving the car.

Do you find that ICE mode makes a difference? I’ve tried it on a run and I don’t think that there was much in it.

I have a feeling it wouldn't appeal to you on a long term basis. The main difference, the transmission shifts up through the gears earlier to aid economy, whilst the changes seem a little smoother, and finally the throttle response is a little duller.
The whole idea seems to be to make progress more relaxed.

I used ICE mode in winter conditions. Makes setting off in snow easier. The duller throttle response helps a lot there.

When I first got the car I did try the mode but I found it appeared to regen the DPF more often and economy was actually worse (I say appeared as apart from a slightly gruffer note and terrible instantaneous mpg theres little way of knowing!)

I tried it on the long shleps across France but it didn't seem to make much difference to economy. I have used it in the snow and ice and there it does reduce the drama a little. Still didn't help trying to get up my drive, but that's my fault for not having winter tyres on.
