Yeh, they’re rubbish. We had an slk that rusted to bits. Utter pish build quality.

That's shocking!
What on earth did Mercedes do to get to this type of scenario?
I have a rust free 1991 500SL and even a rust free 1969 Lancia... although both a 'pre accountants'.

Merc started a bean counter cost cutting program in the mid to late 90s and cars from that era to about 2010 were built to a significantly poorer quality hence rust. They have since improve quality standards believe
