Agreed, even if it gives you a baseline figure, you know what it should be in future.

Also, now this might sound weird but note how quickly you can pee. Flow, amount and how many times a day.

The NHS provides good information and advice. These are in the loo of the Urology department at Trafford General. Don't forget to thoroughly wash out that Pyrex jug after you've finished with it.

Those peak flow rates figures are interesting! Particularly on the male/female comparison.

Reassuringly I've never had an issue with flow.
Never measured but always been like a hose pipe.
Walk into a toilet, full bladder emptied in one full non stop gush, wash hands, dry, out, while others were at it when I walked in and still at it when i'm walking out!
It's been a bit of a joke with my mates for the last 40 years on my speed of turnaround!

You are very lucky.

You are very lucky.
Maybe, however male family history in that department says not.
Not life threatening but suffering badly with Dupuytren's contracture in both hands. Two operations on my right hand over the last 11 years, with my left hand slowly recovering after surgery two weeks ago, and signs already of return again on my right in less than a year

Just a quick update, I guess, before revisiting the consultant next month. I'm now six weeks post op. While I've been hit with all sorts of other lurgies to stop me training, I'm happy with the result. There's clear improvement in flow (although urgency can still be something of a thing ;) ) and in terms of nocturia, I'm now up once a night, often nearly getting up time anyway, which is helping my sleep.

Apparently full benefit may not be realised for six months, so fingers crossed for further improvement.

Not seen any blood in urine for some time now. All other functions are working, although sometimes with some discomfort and some disturbing *looking* outcomes if you can take my point. Apparently this is normal for up to six months as well

So all in all, unpleasant at the time and for some time afterwards but ultimately worth the results. I'll update after the consultant visit.
