Men's Health

So I don't think there is a case to be made that you can actually reduce your risk by having more sex.

Don't let Mrs C see that! She's nearly convinced ;)

Well that was 'interesting' The current situation can be described as 'unpleasant' but should improve. Absolutely felt not a thing. The GA was literally like being turned off. No normal sleep type transition. Just consciousness to consciousness *somewhere else*

Anyway, apparently all went well. Living with a catheter for a week. Enough drugs to fell a mule and fingers crossed. Thanks for all the support, everyone!

akin to the proverbial blowing smoke up your ársé.

I suspect that would be far more pleasant ;)

Someone who is definitely NOT a medical professional writes:

There is, as far as I know, no causality evidence, just correlation. So men who ejaculate less frequently seem to be slightly more likely to get prostate cancer. BUT nobody knows why that is. It is possible that the same underlying cause leads to both (eg Some hormone level leads BOTH to fewer ejaculations AND to more cancers. Or maybe just behavioural: maybe men having lots of sex also tend to get their prostates checked out early.)
So I don't think there is a case to be made that you can actually reduce your risk by having more sex.
So loads of monks have prostate cancer or do men have sex get them checked out by their boyfriends?

Your post is BS.

My post is the exact opposite of BS.

What I am saying is that, yes, there IS good scientific data showing that men who ejaculate frequently have lower rates of prostate cancer.

BUT there is NO evidence that the increased ejaculations actually reduce the cancers - there is no justification for proposing a causality, other than, yes, harmless speculation.

Just STFU !

What are you trying to prove in posting what could be or not about something you are not trained in. You don't know.
You're only repeating second hand information. Are you that sad, that you have to willy wave about something you have read?

Like I said, this thread is not about how you get it or any other disease because, as always it's a combination of things, genes, lifestyle, diet, location, bad luck. There's no ONE thing. You're like the shîte the Daily Mail put out that n gives you spots. It's just garbage.

completely agree - even if there is a Dr on here they don’t know individual circumstances- so just encouraging us to be on alert and get checked is all that’s required - plus of course wishing anyone having treatment best wishes.

Good luck and best wishes to anyone going through prostate cancer issues. It must be very upsetting, and I wish you well.
Be on alert, and get checked out by medical professionals who know what they are talking about.
Read proper scientific research if you like, and share it with people who are interested, but (as I have learned) doing that may really annoy other people.
Ignore The Daily Mail, BS and conspiracy theories.

Ohh. I heard that masturbation may have a preventative effect.
Firstly, good luck Martin and Chris, and anybody else going through this, as to the point highlighted, certainly didn't work for me! now am faced with the situation of not being able to ejaculate at all, just a dribble throughout the day, which is all rather unpleasant. I had hoped as mine was caught early I wouldn't suffer with those sort of problems, oh well, life can be an ars*****

So sorry to hear that, chap. In theory risk is very low with Rezum but I may (or may not!) report back in time....

Good luck, young(ish) Cat.

I vote for this thread to be renamed “Men’s Health” and made a - sticky.

The advice and support on this and other health matters will help us all.

Stress is my nemesis at the moment …. driven mainly the responsibility I feel for others around me.
